I did forget about this concerning Target

Target losing market capAnd thanks to Powerline for reminding me (emphasis mine, reformatted):

The second example is Target. According to Wray, it has taken a beating on the heels of a March announcement that promoted an all-comers bathroom and changing room policy — an expression of solidarity with the current policy goals of liberal LGBT activists. With sales lagging, Target recently announced the departure of its e-commerce director.

And at last look, $6 billion in market cap.  And for the record, they fired the wrong guy.  They should have hit the guy who actually caused their problem and I’m betting it wasn’t this guy.

The lagging sales are no coincidence. According to Wray, 1.42 million people signed the American Family Association’s boycott pledge.

Ayup.  A while ago, I said I wasn’t going to shop there anymore.  Haven’t, even to purchase a replacement Target lamp that died (one I had bought before this all happened) and it looks like others are doing the same.  But they are just darned determined to be stuck on Stupid:

Notable Quote – Laura Ingraham

“When did atheists become so evangelical? I mean, if you don’t believe something to be true, wouldn’t you just ignore it? That’s certainly what I do. Whether it’s leprechauns or a congressional debt reduction plan – if I’m convinced it’s fiction, I simply put it out of my mind. Not the atheists. They are obsessed with faith and religious practice. Their identities and their works are one big reaction to that which they hate. No longer content to simply dismiss God and those who follow in Him, the New Atheists have created a cult of unbelief.”

-Laura Ingraham (radio show host, TV commentor, author (“Shut up and Sing”)

It often seems that these New Atheists are

The collusion has made the MSM simply an organization of the Democrat Party

I’m not the only one that is noticing that the MSM has dropped all pretense of being the “who, what, where, why, and how” – objectivity.  Oh sure, I’ve pointed this and them out for years but this election season, it is beyond “over the top”:

The Democrats’ and mainstream media’s blizzard of sexual accusations against Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is getting stronger every day, right at a time when fully investigating and responding to the allegations would be very tough for Team Trump with only weeks before the election. The former judge and prosecutor took to “Fox & Friends” Friday to explain why she finds the whole affair just a little too “convenient” for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. Emphasis mine:

…“You know what? It’s a little too convenient, all of the sudden, all these people, all in one day, on the day when WikiLeaks starts coming out … Look, you’ve got the mainstream media in cahoots with the Clinton campaign.

“I always respected the media, they’re supposed to be the Fourth Estate. They’re the people who keep us honest. No, they don’t. They want Clinton elected, and don’t want to do anything else.”

Progressives – needing Sheeple and are happy to look at them as such

Sheeple: (a portmanteau of “sheep” and “people”) is a derogatory term that highlights the passive herd behavior of people easily controlled by a governing power which likens them to sheep, a herd animal that is easily led about. The term is used to describe those who voluntarily acquiesce to a suggestion without critical analysis or research in large part because the majority of others possess a similar mindset

I’m tabbing a bunch of posts about the WikiLeaks-Podesta emails and if the media wasn’t so brown nosing up Hillary’s arse and those of her progressive posse, these email might be the end of her campaign.  But they’re busy protecting her (and “Caining Trump”) so the only source of discussion of these emails is coming from the Right blogosphere.

Sheeple?  I prefer LIVs – Low Information Voters.  It is not that they are stupid but certainly do not take their civic duties highly.  Easy to prove – the “man in the street” interviews I’ve posted up in the past.  They may know the latest about pop culture but nada about their government (after all it is supposed to be about WE the People).  The problem here is that Progressives don’t believe that the citizens have a government – in their model, people are there to be ruled (not even governed, but ruled).  Emphasis mine, reformatted:

One of John Podesta’s emails released by WikiLeaks this week exposes how progressive elites seek to exploit the unwashed masses. The email features one of Podesta’s colleagues from the Center for American Progress admitting that the institutional left “conspires to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry,” ostensibly to impose their radical agenda on us without much resistance.

“Medieval America”

That’s the title of yet another great piece by Victor Davis Hanson, a Professor of History at Stanford.  I know that I have used the Roman Empire as a parallel comparison to what I see happening here in US in both culture and political – he calls folks like us out for being off base.  Instead, he thinks that Medieval times are a better fit – a couple of snippets (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Pessimists often compare today’s troubled America to a tottering late Rome or an insolvent and descending British Empire. But medieval Europe (roughly A.D. 500 to 1450) is the more apt comparison. The medieval world was a nearly 1,000-year period of spectacular, if haphazard, human achievement — along with endemic insecurity, superstition and two, rather than three, classes. The great medieval universities — at Bologna, Paris and Oxford — continued to make strides in science. They were not unlike the medical and engineering schools at Harvard and Stanford. But they were not centers of free thinking.

Instead, medieval speech codes were designed to

And they called it the “Affordable” care act? A horror story:

Stories for this Obamacare have all of the major insurance companies are pulling out of the Exchanges because of enormous losses,

Sidenote:  First, Democrats were all but ready to burn these same insurance companies for causing our healthcare industry because of a lust for greedy profits.  Now that they are suffering large fractional parts of a billion each and are pulling out of the Exchanges (due to legal fiduciary responsibilities to their shareholders) and pulling out of the Democrat only legislation created, mandated, and over-burdened the same, they are being put on the rack for “destroying” the Exchanges.

…the failure of the  majority of the faux facade co-ops that Government set up to be shining examples of non-profits that could make it (especially with billions of our tax dollars) and the news that individual policies on the Exchanges are SKYrocketing premiums / deductions and causing exactly the results we said would happen – a government mandated marketplace isn’t a marketplace and when government pushes its thumb down on the economic scale to create the results it wants, the results will be those they expected.  One person’s horror story:

Twitter now banning James O’Keefe

twitter-blocks-james-okeefeThe Left cannot tolerate dissent or opposition.  There can be no debate – only silencings. They say they want tolerance – and then show up with a flamethrower.

So, right after Google / YouTube decided to block Prager U’s videos (H/T: Steve), we now have friend of the ‘Grok James O’Keefe letting us know that Twitter has blocked this Conservative (and flamboyant Progressive baiter) James O’Keefe and Project Veritas (and remember, law Professor Glenn Reynolds was blocked on Twitter for commenting negatively for telling drivers what to do with their cars when Black Live Matters thugs attacked them and their cars).  From the email he sent out yesterday:

About an hour ago, the Twitter Corporation decided to silence me and suspended my account.

No notice, no warning, I just received a terse message that I had “violated” their rules.

“Top 10 Clinton scandals exposed by WikiLeaks”

Email DoodlingsI’m behind the 8-ball once again with WikiLeaks just dumping a lot of Hillary’s Campaign Manager and long term political hack John Podesta’s emails.  It is infuriating to me to see the collusion of MSM, her campaign, the think tanks and the Obama Administration.  Worst of all is the utter disdain and disgust that Hillary’s campaign staff and other hanger-oners have for religion and those of us of faith but that will have to wait for another post.  It does make for the PERFECT example of why the religious population of Christian persuasion are under such attack with no though of offending them (but NEVER offend a transgender Muslim convert, right?).  Oh, and that she thinks SO much of the United States, she wants to completely remake it over via NO borders and no controls – imagine what that would mean for we American citizens? And the utter depravity of someone who is unwilling (unable?) to look the American people in the eyes and tell us what she (or them) REALLY believe and will do to us if she were to gain the Presidency.

But I digress – here’s a quick list from the Washington Time’s of 10 of the significant areas in which these emails are showing us the true heart of Progressives (for these ARE the cream of the Progressive crop aching for a Progressive coup of our country):

The ongoing WikiLeaks dump of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta’s emails has exposed the corruption and cronyism of her campaign and time in office. Everyday there are more revelations of wrongdoing, so much so, it’s hard to keep up with. So here’s the top 10 double-dealing, dishonest discoveries uncovered thus far.

  • 1. Mrs. Clinton had cozy and improper relationship with the mainstream media.
  • 2. The State Department paid special attention to “Friends of Bill.”
  • 3. Mrs. Clinton argued for “a hemispheric common market with open trade and open borders.”

BlogQuestion of the Day – about the anthem or about you?

Just saw this great question at the Daily Caller that asks THE question that I should have in my post when I went from the NFL to the NBA.  The Question: And if you take a knee while you’re actually singing the National Anthem in front of a crowd… why did you agree to sing it in … Read more

And if it happened?

Shot: Politically, Britain without Scotland would be a lot like the U.S. without California, Illinois, and New York Chaser:  And this would be a negative…..how? Be happy, no worry!

Notable Quote – Seton Motley

Socialism doesn’t work because it tries to root out human nature. Capitalism works because it harnesses it. We are capitalists, conservatives and federalists in part because we acknowledge and understand human nature. Its possibilities – and its limitations. They are Socialists because they are Utopian fantasists. They think they can remake humanity and the planet … Read more

Once again we hear the drum roll for Whitey to pay reparations to Blacks

irishneednotapplySo much for healing the racial divide, eh Obama?  Almost everyone agrees that race relations have gone south in a big way with folks like Reverend Al and other “leaders”, “community organizers” whose main tool is rub everybody raw, Black Lives Matter types that like to chant “Pigs in a blanket; fry’em like bacon” and spoiled college brats acting like 2 year olds having the stereotypical tantrums. And I’ve been watching that the call for “reparations” happening more often with more onerous terms.  Well, one person put the “guilt” that we all should puddling ourselves when the usual claims that all of us whites have to pay up for the slavery of our past. Emphasis mine:

The problem with the concept of reparations is that it blankets an entire race with blame. In the case of events the left typically refers to – the enslavement and trade of black people – it happened long ago, in a time none of us were alive to see.

For instance, the pervasive myth that seems to float around in people’s minds is that white people all across America owned a slave. As if it was some kind of common practice, and we had a slave each. This is demonstrably false. In reality, less than 1.4% of Americans owned slaves. Owning a slave wasn’t necessarily cheap. Purchase, feeding, clothing, etc, couldn’t be done if your economic situation was meager. Not to mention those who didn’t own slaves purely out of their morality making it abhorrent to them.

Comment Doodlings – promoted

From Steve’s “Transgender Law in Massachusetts Challenged“, I think this comment to be timely, spot on, and puts govt in a tenuous and uncomfortable position: I want to be there when the PC police go to a mosque and tell the iman (sp?) that a man who thinks he is a female wants to worship … Read more

Accusations against Trump: deja vu all over again, right Amy Conveno?

amyconvenoIt hit me yesterday what is happening with NBC sitting on that tape with Billy Bush, the New York Times going back 30 years for a woman who claims she was “touched inappropriately”,

Sidenote: “inappropriately”; heck, at a lot of colleges / universities nowadays, “inappropriately” can mean almost anything a victim or SJWs (or just illiterate spoiled precious snowflakes) want it to mean including just looking / starting at someone. Go ahead, challenge me on this.

WaPo and LAT chiming in as well. All of the MSM seems to be aligned for one singular person – and I remembered, that I’ve seen this all before in using sexual allegations and the press circled like the Democrat-with-bylines they are.  And we had a STERLING example of it happening, courtesy of WMUR’s Amy Coveno:

Tonite was a great “teachable moment” in how the MSM can make anyone appear in a bad light – all it takes is an uppity attitude, a whiny voice, a TV camera, and a pre-determined narrative.

Disqus Doodlings – “…proving once again, environmentalist are the people of “you don’t and CAN’T have that” – Part 2

Could I get a side of steak with my steak?
Could I get a side of steak with my steak?

Recap: Treehugger’s Katherine Martinko had a hissy fit that people are misbehaving and not living up to her standards about eating meat.  She just can’t understand WHY we carnivores just won’t get the message and save the planet by going vegan (here’s a hint: PETA – People Eating Tasty Animals).  Yep, we’re the apex predator and they are what’s for dinner instead of cauliflower. But it was fun in the comment area as Part 1 showed.  I continued to to cross swords with Jim Gordon who rather took exception that I challenged his thoughts:

Constitutional rights have nothing to do with this. Your actions as a responsible adult occupant of this planet are the issue.

Regarding “killing babies” <eye roll=””> NGOs have found that educating women results in lower birth rates. How can you attempt to comment on population and not even be aware of that basic fact?

Environmentalists understand why they ‘SHOULD NOT have that’. Deniers understand nothing but their own personal myopic self interests.

Umm, I think it was you, Jim, that first said “Thank the thronging hordes of prolific multi-child families for taking away many of your rights” so I went from rare to medium:
