A NH based TEA Party – holding PSNH’s feet to the fire?

by

TEA Party groups continue to pop up all over the State as more and more folks continue to awaken to the fact that Government has been running amok.  In addition, via crony capitalism and "special favors", big government has decided not to compete and succeed in the free marketplace but use the force of Government to gain commercial advantage (GE, whose CEO Jeff Immelt is a great buddy of Obama, is a prime example of this).

Anyways, the Lakes Region TEA Party is one such group and charged into an issue of great import for its members.  It had been in the process of trying to arrange for a meeting concerning the Northern Pass project – a joint project between NH based PSNH and Canada’s Hydro-Quebec to bring high tension lines down from Canada through some of the most scenic vistas of Northern NH.

They got stiffed:

However, on the afternoon of August 24th on or about 2 pm, just five hours before our meeting was to start, Ms. Brown called me saying that PSNH was going to back out.

I was shocked by the call, and questioned why in the world PSNH would change their mind. After all, they knew exactly what was going to happen for days.

Ms. Brown said, "We feel vulnerable." I’m convinced the reason she said that is because our Lakes Region Tea Party meeting was perhaps the first one that was going to have a head-to-head forum AND be taped start to finish using high-definition video cameras.

I asked Ms. Brown to please ask the management of PSNH to reconsider. I asked her to please see if they would do a quick conference call. She said she would try to do that.

Two hours later, I finally heard back from Laurel. She said that the decision was final. They were not coming.

On or about 5 pm of August 24, 2011 I received this email from Ms. Brown:

"As you know, we initially agreed to participate in a forum that included representatives of both The Northern Pass as well as the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests (SPNHF).  We learned only yesterday that SPNHF is not able to participate, and now feel that the event is shaping up to be something other than what was originally planned.

I apologize for the inconvenience our withdrawal from the event may cause.

Thank you, in advance, for your understanding."

Read that again. Ms. Brown is not telling the truth. She knew that the No Northern Pass Coalition was going to be presenting for days and days. What does that tell you about PSNH?

Well, what DOES that tell us about PSNH?  Vulnerable?  A huge corporation here in NH trying to spin that a small, new TEA Party group is trying to do it in?

Oh please..

Thus, yet another website has been started in the "peoplesphere: Northern Pass Facts.
