I briefly talked about internal vs external governors (a la Weiner) here. However, we do have to wonder what games are being played with examples like this:
Language granting HHS that power was never in the original law. Instead, through new rules and regulations, HHS gave itself the power last summer using a broad interpretation of certain parts of the law.
…Heritage Foundation health policy expert Edmund Haislmaier said HHS “exceeded its statutory authority” by issuing such waivers.
FCC decided that it could write its own laws (after being hammered by the courts and Congress).
The Interior Dept effectively shuts down drilling in the Gulf, and the courts hammered them. Secretary Salazar stuck up the finger, doubled down, and did what he did not have the authority to do.
And now, we see more of the Progressive mantra of the Rule, not of Law, but of Technocratic bureaucrat. Once again, who needs the Legislative Branch and the Judicial Branch when the Imperial Executive Branch can be more without them? Hey, it’s all about efficiency, right?
I’ve been harping on this for a while to the point of being overdone. Yet, while we did throw the sand into the gears on November 2nd, the battle is not won or done. Frankly, I don’t think it ever will be for the end game is not the Freedom and Liberty given to us by our Founders, but Tyranny by our betters, The Elites, under the guise of "Knowing what’s best for you – you poor, pathetic, unwashed masses".
