Often in discussions, I keep trying to remind folks that the Founding Fathers viewed Government as separate from the rest of society. Certainly there, and certainly needed – but certainly apart and distinct from the everyday life of citizens.
Obama and Progressives? Not so much. Just as many former traditional charities have morphed into professional social services non-profits beholden to government to dole out taxpayer money to them (re: dependency), Progressives WANT to have companies be mere extensions of Government. Democrats, via Obamacare, are forcing companies to give healthcare to employees, mandating time off, telling companies that they have to do this and that – almost to the extent that making profit, if you listen to Obama, is the last thing that companies should be providing for their owners and shareholders.
The only thing wrong with the cartoon is that it is a couple of years late…
