We had quite a bit of reaction to Tom’s post: The Red Pen Governor (reformatted):
The liberty and freedom we’ve enjoyed in New Hampshire is under direct attack. And it’s the worst it has ever been. Fresh off their November election wins, Democrats fired up their campaign to restrict rights and grow government. And, unfortunately, they control the House, Senate and Executive Council. But fortunately, we still have a Republican governor – and he promised to at least defend our gun rights under Article 2a of the NH Constitution. Chris Sununu showed us this when he signed Constitutional Carry into law a couple years ago.
Even if he sticks to his promise, there are still scores of other bad bills in the system. And, like IED or sapper attacks, for every 50 bills they submit, a handful will surely make it through the wire. (increase business taxes, raise minium wage, unionize the legislature, eliminating the death penalty, increase vehicle registration fees, eliminate voter id, etc. etc.)
That set the stage. The next step: Tom’s Call to Action:
Some people have even decided to send him Red Pens, symbolic of our expectation that he veto any bill that infringes on our gun rights or grows government beyond the limits of reason and budget. For extra credit, send him a whole pack of red pens from Amazon…You can’t prevent your government from doing bad things to you – unless you take some action to control your government.
Want to send a message – and a red pen? I have bought some red pens; a few dozen and I’ll be happy to buy more, too. Either leave a comment below, or for better effect, email me with the info, that when sent to The Corner Office, he and his staff will know that it is from a NH resident and voter. I’ll send them in. Heck, I’ll deliver them personally. Tell me the bill that’s ticking you off.
And yes, I can tell you with authority that the Governor is aware of Tom’s post and both he and his staff know we are watching – intently (Chris Sununu told me that personally that he knows GraniteGrok has lots of red pens) for him to use on ANY bill that advances a Democrat Agenda item at the price of standing firm on US/NH Constitutional values and the NH GOP Platform.
2020 is not that far away and Chris already has a credible and opposing candidate in Andru “I’m an anti-Christian bigot and I want the State to take over local education” Volinsky (doubt me? Just read his own words and watch his own actions).
