First it was Landrigan in the Telegraph. I couldn’t figure out exactly what it was, journalistic malfeasance or bias, so I went with the latter.
Now, in Roll Call, I see pretty much the same story. Gee, I JUST can’t figure out WHY a national level reporter at a national level newspaper would deign to report on a lowly, state level blogger:
Sununu criticized recent “mailings” from Kimball supporters that attacked Bergeron for not being conservative enough, among other things. One of them targeted Bergeron for a Christmas card delivered to supporters.
“I’ve been a little disappointed about the divisive comments made by Jack’s supporters,” Sununu said. “I think that does Jack a disservice.”
Gee, and I thought Sununu kept telling us:
Talk, Talk, and Talk some more!"
Well, everyone is talking – and rightfully so. Problem is, it seems, that we all are talking about His hand chosen pick to replace him – and that has struck a nerve. Did he presume that once the election was over, we were supposed to just fall into line and be silent? Hardly – times have changed and politics has become uber-retail and the Internet has become THE device for disintermediation of political messages – as an MIT credentialed engineer, I would have thought he’d have realized that once the genie was out of the server, it wasn’t going back in.
With that close personal relationship Sununu might just be a little too close to the fire to make an objective opinion. Are we talking about what is best for the party or what is best for Sununu? And who is the origin of the rumors of disunity? By simply asking questions we are accused of splitting the party? Since when are the liberty loving conservatives of New Hampshire expected to sit down, shut up and do what they are told for the sake of unity? That doesn’t sound like my friends, my family, or my party, it sounds frightningly like the battlecry of the progressives in DC.
Here’s what I sent to the Roll Call reporter, Steve Peoples:
Good morning!
Of all of the lines in my post (er, not "email" as MIT degree’d Gov. Sununu alleges), you selected a fine example – I DO appreciate that one as it got to the heart of the matter – using a religious holiday dear to most Americans for political reasons. I guess this story is being shopped around, as Kevin Landrigan of the Telegraph (here in NH) had a similar piece last night.
Gov. Sununu wanted ALL good Republicans to do one thing before Nov 2: "talk, talk, talk…and talk some more". I’m just obliging him. It just seems that the Old Guard are in full fury mode as the more TEA Party / 9-12 Project / Liberty & Free wing of the party is out hustling them just as Maine and Utah did.
It does make for interesting times!

Alright Gov., you have the MSM doing your bidding – you have no problems in debating as I have watched you delimb Suckley (gosh, I love that term, Steve) on a couple of occasions.
So, Gov Sununu, let’s"talk" on these two issues:
- Is the use of Christmas, a religious holiday, for political gain within bounds? Or only when your Chosen One does so?
- And is ignoring the spirit of the ByLaws concerning the NH GOP Executive Committee members endorsing one Republican over another a new policy? Or just one when it fits the situation?
And as far as "disunity" is concerned – you have severely disturbed the "wa" of the Liberty and Freedom folks; you really expected no pushback? In the words of the US Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (still, but only 1 more day, thank God):
Are you serious?
Let’s remember one very important point; if you don’t like the downside ramifications of this whole NH conversation on the Right, you only have to look in the mirror to see who started this.
