Skip was the sole guy in the "Liberty Studio" and introduced the topics for the show: Opening Segment.
Ah yes, Political Correctness caught its latest victim for a "mal mot" (ok, a bunch of them) as Harrell Kirstein, Press Secretary of the NH Democrat Party, issued a Presser that probably should have been double checked first.
As we here at the ‘Grok have been "snake bit" in the past by Political Correctness (including by Harrell), we decided to reach out to Harrell with an honest offer to come on the show and have an adult conversation concerning the issue of how Political Correctness (now that he’s been bit, too) affects discussions that we should be having. This week was not possible; the offer has been made open ended. We’re hoping!
Instead, we had the other person involved in this situation: NH House of Representative David Bates who was the speaker at that prayer service came on to talk about the service, his intent, and some of the ramifications of the war between secularists and folks of faith in the public square: Part 1 Part 2
Skip has a few thoughts on a couple of things here.
Kevin Smith of Cornerstone, who also had responded publicly to the Presser, also came on the show to talk about Presser and a more general discussion on Political Correctness and the the role of religion in the public square as just one traditional value under attack in today’s society. We changed gears and yakked with brand new NH State Senator Jeanie Forrester. In this time of austerity-to-be at the state level, we had a conversation with her about her support of LCHIP – a state program that gathers land transfer fee monies and disperses that money for buying up land and restoring old buildings. Is this an important program, and should it continue to be funded (or privatized?). Listen here.
