Does The GOP Want That New Direction Or Not – Part 2

by

If NOTHING else, the ‘Grok has been to debate after debate after debate….well, you get the idea.  In all cases, we’ve live streamed the Congressional debates, the Senatorial debates, and the Gubernatorial debates when ever we’ve been able to catch an Internet connection.  In all cases, we’ve put up recorded video after the fact.

That has been our contribution as citizen journalists to the political scene of NH.

Thus, to say that I was MORE than disappointed when I FaceBooked this out earlier this evening concerning very recent events concerning the election of the new Speaker of the NH House of Representatives:

Nov 18 was to be the debate for those seeking to be NH House Speaker.

Why did Gene Chandler, Susan Emerson, and John Reagan decide to bail? Only Bill O’Brien was willing to stand up?

If you can’t stand up to the heat of a debate, how can Reps expect them to stand up for Repub Principles / Constitution instead of the Old …Guard mantra of "go along, get along"?

Really won’t debate? Shame, that.

And this:

Reactions still inbound to Chandler, Emerson, & Reagan (Speaker wannabes) disallowing Repub Reps vote for their own leader:

"In the past we, as new Reps, never got a chance to find out what our candidates were really all about so I guess it’s ‘business as usual’ and ‘let the buyer beware.’"

– Rep. Paul Ingbretson

"Business as usual" – translation: an attitude of "I know better than all of you".

Sound familiar?

Like I’ve said: Old Guard politics vs. New Republican way.

Choose well, Republicans Reps!  Is power better concentrated in the very few, or dispersed to you all; after all, you were elected for a purpose and a say, right?  Those three wish to take that right, and that say, from you (or so it seems to this lay person).
