Today, on episode 300 of the Morning Update, yet another example of how democrats destroy everything they touch. A lesson many will watch, after Tuesday’s results, in real time over the next two years, and we need to make sure they learn it … before it gets this bad.

Welcome to your Friday, November 6th, 2026, morning update. It is episode 300 of the morning update. So thanks for joining us for the first time, or maybe you’re a regular watcher. We appreciate you helping us crank up the views on Rumble. So today’s lesson is one that we have tried to teach thousands and thousands and thousands of times.
No matter what a Democrat promises you, it’s doomed to fail.
There are many examples. Just pick a blue town, city, county, or state, and you’ll find a whole bunch of them.
Today’s comes from us with the help of Dr. Steve Turley. Make sure you look him up and follow him. He’s a really smart guy.
The poster child for this example, today’s lesson, is Seattle’s Jumpstart tax.
Quote: Jumpstart Seattle is a progressive payroll expense tax enacted in 2020 and implemented in 2021 on large employers with annual payrolls exceeding 9 million and employees earning over $194,452.
Democrats imposed this tax with the idea that they were going to reap all sorts of revenue to help with homelessness and the housing problem. Democrats are running it.
Wealth taxes, death taxes, profit taxes, any kind of tax. Democrats love all. And they’ll tax the crap out of you until there’s nothing left to tax. And human nature being what it is. The expected happens. You make excuses for a tax, you drive away the tax base, and now what?
The city of Seattle has redirected substantial JumpStart funds, such as 287 million in 2025 and 223 million in 2026, to cover general fund budget shortfalls, a move criticized by housing advocates as undermining the tax’s original purpose.
I think they’re confused about what the tax’s original purpose was, but we’ll get to that in just a second.
Housing advocates and just about everybody else who does anything in the progressive sphere of political business oughta know.
The cost of doing business, government business, will always continue to swell at the expense of everything else.
Democrats then lie about needs to raise more money, which they then redirect to the monster they can’t help but feed.
And yeah, everything just keeps getting worse.
And America just voted for that. Vermont voted for it. New Hampshire voted for it. Lots of states did.
Vermont is long into the socialist death spiral.
New Hampshire has a slightly more Republican governor and the potential to prevent Democrats from doing any serious injury to the state and its people. And if we are willing to learn the lesson and get better at teaching the lesson to people who aren’t paying any attention, which is most of the independents and undeclared who turned out for Democrats last Tuesday, we could make some progress, but we have to find a way to teach them this important lesson.
And what is the lesson?
The lesson isn’t that democrats destroy everything they touch; it’s that it’s deliberate.
They’re using toxic empathy, virtue signaling, fear-mongering, diversity narratives, class warfare, anything they can think of to convince you to let them fleece you.
Under the false premise that they’re actually fleecing somebody else. But as you can see from all the examples around us, in the end, everything gets worse, everything costs more, and you end up paying for it. Public education is one of the finest examples.
Trains to Nowhere. Seattle’s Jump Start program.
See, there’s no limit to the amount of spending a Democrat will do, which means there’s no limit to the amount of money they need to pay for it.
And Democrat majorities only do one thing one way, and it’s the socialist death spiral.
Seattle is doomed.
Vermont.
Looked like they were trying to come back in 2024, but they’ve dived into the deep blue end of the swimming pool.
But a lot of states, including my own, there’s hope.
We’ve done it before, and we can do it again. And the ironic thing is that Democrats, just by being who they are, are actually going to help us. Assuming we have the energy and the perseverance to take what they do and educate the people. It’s all about the lessons.
That’s it for this week. I’ll talk to you on Monday.
