Welcome to your Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026 morning update.
The handmaiden media is acting like a bunch of toddlers. Mr. Trump has taken away a shiny object, and they are beside themselves.
Pouting, crying, pitching a fit.
I am, of course, referring to the expulsion of MS now CNN and Politico from the White House grounds.
The outraged outlets are screaming and shouting about freedom of the press and the First Amendment, as if they have any idea what’s in the First Amendment or what it actually may mean.
They have, after all, been conveniently getting every single clause wrong for about as long as any of us can remember.
From religion to speech to assembly to the press.
The fact of the matter is, is all it guarantees is that you are free to publish almost anything you want, except for very narrow, narrow exceptions that that center around defamation.
You do not have a right to be anywhere specifically at any particular time under any certain circumstances.
Quote: Earlier this morning, MS Now journalists were denied access to the White House grounds. MS Now intends to take any and all steps necessary to defend our First Amendment rights and the essential role of independent journalism in our democracy.
Well, there you go.
There’s nothing independent about what MS Now does, and we don’t live in a democracy. But how many times has the legacy media insisted that that little bit called the press in the First Amendment only applied to them and that it didn’t apply to private citizen journalists and investigators?
How many states have proposed rules to clarify it in favor of the legacy media?
More than we can recall, but California just passed one. A carve-out, an exception for mainstream outlets, one that excludes private citizen journalists like Nick Shirley specifically.
And can we agree that MS Now, CNN, and Politico would probably applaud the expulsion of outlets like Newsmax, OAN, or Breitbart from the White House?
You might say they don’t have any legs to stand on, but stand they do.
Lying and misleading the public again about what press freedom means and what the First Amendment is all about.
Which, ironically, is kind of why they got kicked out of the White House.
One more quick point that’s been made repeatedly, but just in case you missed it, and of course I insist on adding some nuance. Donald Trump has been by far the most press-accessible president in modern history, if not all of history.
And he has no obligation under any amendment rule or anything else to do any of that. And we know this is true because his predecessor, Joe Cabbage Biden, was probably the least accessible press president in modern history, if not all of history.
This is the guy who, in twenty twenty-three, as the presidential election was just starting to spin up, tightened the standards and rules and certifications for Press access to Jill Biden’s White House.
And this made it harder for non-legacy outlets, including Fox News.
This is the same administration that pressured tech giants to censor speech it didn’t like, and they did it.
This is the same White House that pressured Amazon.com to ban books.
And if I’m not mistaken, the handmaiden legacy media either didn’t cover those stories at all
Or they simply argued that they weren’t true.
