Welcome to your Monday, September 14th, 2026, morning update. Why did I call it Kimmel and Bits? I was inspired.
Besides, Kimmel and Bits and Bits and Bits sounds a little bit like a montage program or just a collection of left-wing nonsense spouted by some rich SOB from Hollywood, or in this case, I believe, New York.
So last September, Mr. Kimmel almost had his show canceled after making some disparaging remarks related to the Charlie Kirk assassination.
That was, in fact, the very first installment of this program that I ever did, September 18th, 2025.
Kimmel kept his show despite the rumors that it bleeds money as badly as Colbert’s did, and of course, Colbert just lost his program because CBS got tired of throwing forty million dollars a year down that hole.
Observers estimate that Mr. Kimmel’s show probably loses almost as much money as Colbert did. With that in mind, ABC has opened negotiations to re-up the show. The new season will start in May of 2027, and Jimmy Kimmel and ABC are interested, but ABC has conditions. They need budget cuts.
Most estimates say Kimmel probably still has his job because he’s the face of the late-night proglodyte narrative. But if it is forty million, that’s a lot of money. So here’s the question. Jimmy Kimmel is worth an estimated fifty to sixty million dollars and earns anywhere from fifteen to sixteen million a year from ABC
Given that he panders to the whole left-wing class warfare, working trans woman narrative, is Jimmy willing to take a substantial pay cut to protect the jobs and welfare of the staff and the crew on his program?
And I’m guessing there’s really no other way to cut the budget enough for it to make a difference. But I’m not entirely sure Jimmy’s that kind of guy.
We also have to factor in something that Christian Toto mentioned: Is the show’s political lecturing worth the added cost in lost dollars? What’s the price tag? How much value do ABC and Disney put on whatever it is Kimmel is doing that they like politically?
In other words, how much are they willing to flush down the Kimmel commode to keep that microphone on?
If it turns out that it’s not gonna go Jimmy’s way, my suggestion is that he just change his name to Kimmy Jimmel, identify as a woman, and then ABC won’t be able to cancel his show.
