Morning Update: Desperation

Today on the Morning Update, the political left is so desperate for a narrative they can ride into November that someone decided to try this despite having no chokehold on information, the government, or the media.

Welcome to your Thursday, August 27th, 2026. Morning update.

You remember COVID? Hmm. How could you forget? GraniteGrok went from cautiously preparatory to skeptical in the first week of the lockdown, and was very skeptical at every point after that.

We were also right about nearly every single thing, including this.

Order everyone dies from covid cartoon

Yes, that cartoon got us into a little bit of trouble, some fights online, not holding our breath waiting for an apology, but we were right.

Guess what? It’s back.

No, not COVID, it’s that thing where the proglodites raise their pointless spears and yell into the darkness.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro held a press conference in Lancaster County this week.

Now, we don’t want anybody to die, but if you’re gonna stand on the bodies to try to make a point, you need to do a better job than blaming Mr. Trump and Mr. Kennedy.

But that’s what Josh Shapiro’s done. Murderers!

Shapiro called the outbreak a serious and ongoing problem. He somberly informed the public deaths were completely preventable.

Really? What outbreak?

Measles, of course. Shapiro and the media are pasting headlines all over the place in both print and digital platforms.

Talking about two dead from measles.

Well, some of them say measles-related, and some of them dropped the “related” and just said it was measles. And someone actually said two children died from measles.

But we don’t, in fact, know if any of that is true at all.

Quote: When contacted for comment, Lancaster County coroners denied that his office had handled any measles deaths. He did say he was investigating one infant who tested positive for measles, but died from a ruptured spleen. Does that count as measles-related? We can only guess. Why did they test the infant for measles? He did not say. Was the test conducted post-mortem? And if so, why? The coroner conspicuously did not say the infant had any measles symptoms.

So I checked with the CDC. Hospitalizations?

Deaths.

Now it’s entirely possible that they haven’t updated the records yet, but it doesn’t look good for Governor Shapiro and his measles-related deaths in Lancaster County. But just in case, I worked this up.

Governor Shapiro’s Pandora’s measles box has another issue.

Quote: Lancaster County continues to require K-12 students to get their measles jabs. Neither Pennsylvania’s mandates nor its available exemptions to school vaccines have changed at all since January. End quote.

That was when the childhood vaccine schedule situation started to change. The federal government said, well, we’re not going to re recommend all these, but that didn’t mean states couldn’t recommend them. It didn’t mean parents couldn’t just go and get them. It just said the federal government isn’t sure that these are necessary. We’re going to leave it up to you. Liberty, freedom, choice. Choice!

This reminded me of a couple of posts I had already written about this and a clip, which puts it all in perspective.

After COVID, you would have thought the Democrats and the media would have learned about the lying and the exaggerating and the hyperbole. But they didn’t. At some point, when the truth goes wide, the media will avoid the issue of having to issue a retraction or a correction by doing what they always do. They’ll blame it on climate change.

Blame it on climate change, when the most likely reason for any measles outbreak is that they opened the border and invited millions of third-worlders into the country who’ve never had any vaccinations and who are exposed to these germs and viruses on a regular basis.

Yes, Democrat policy is probably what is responsible for any measles outbreak.

if those two people did die of measles, it was a result of Democrat policy.

That’s it for today. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
