Former Manchester Police Chief Aldenberg has now replaced Cassandra Sanchez in the Office of Child Advocate. Governor Kelly Ayotte appointed him. Children and their welfare are a lost cause in NH:
Let’s not forget that it was Police Chief Aldenberg’s department that never found Harmony Montgomery, who was missing for two years before anything happened at all, despite calls from her family members to New Hampshire authorities about their concerns for her welfare. Governor Ayotte has praised Aldenberg for being vocal about it. Of course he would be vocal – two years too late. Surely she recognizes CYA Crisis PR? He couldn’t get his timeline straight on events; despite protocols for police and child services, these were all ignored so that Harmony could be disappeared, never to have her remains found.
Let’s also not forget that the State is on the brink of facing bankruptcy over claims for child sex abuse at the State’s Youth Development Center when Kelly Ayotte worked in the Attorney General’s Office under AG Phil McLaughlin. Kelly Ayotte also made no comment about Claremont Rep/former Cop Jon Stone’s history of threatening his police chief boss with rape and murder of his daughter and wife after Stone had an inappropriate (unlawful?) relationship with a 15-year-old girl. Ayotte took photos with him despite most likely knowing of his Laurie List history.
Governor Ayotte’s aide, when she was a Senator, was busted for being part of a prostitution ring. He never went to jail either. She claimed she didn’t know anything about it. Seriously? It’s New Hampshire. The gossip travels far. She didn’t know about it, or she chose not to know about it?
The whole point of the Office of Child Advocate was to have an independent watchdog who was not beholden to the system that has been so manipulated by corruption, leading to retaliation within the State’s agencies for whistleblowers. What’s Aldenberg going to do? He’s not going to call out his peers for harming children. It’s just going to be paper shuffling. His own pension relies on conformity with the cover-ups and corruption.
Children who are interviewed by NH police have reported being stalked, lied to, bullied (see NH v Griffin Furlotte), and force-fed enumerated versions of tales. Police who whistleblow about sex abuse get put on the Laurie List. Manchester Police have reportedly refused to take information on reported incidents of child abuse. That’s Manchester Police under Aldenberg when he was the police chief.
Didn’t it bother the Executive Council that Aldenberg “retired” just two months after Harmony Montgomery’s mother filed her lawsuit against the State? When you find out that lobbyist firms are making straw donations for non-profits like the NHCADSV to select members of the Executive Council and the NHCADSV is contracted with and receives several million from DCYF, we can no longer trust the Executive Council to do the right thing when it comes to child welfare. DCYF has failed every audit. And the Governor, with her appointment of Aldenberg, has just proven that she just doesn’t care.
Kids are on their own.
