We can gather from the news to date that this was because the people stealing it were on his side, and when he says “fight corruption,” he left the word “for” out from between them. Papps is running to fight for corruption or the retunt to more of it

Pappas, a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, is married to Vann Bentley, a policy manager for cybersecurity and privacy at Uber who previously worked as a lobbyist for Amazon, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Fight Corruption Pappas never recused or excused himself. He’s been tagged for voting on matters of financial interest to companies for which his love interest lobbied. Not just once or twice, but more than a few times.
In fact, Pappas dated Amazon lobbyist Vann Bentley in 2019 and voted on legislation affecting Amazon’s business. Pappas did not publicly disclose his relationship with the lobbyist until after the debate. He also accused Mowers of homophobic attacks for bringing up his lobbyist relationship.
The Pappas campaign response all along has been to accuse truthtellers of being homophobes.
Chris. Buddy. Literally no one is afraid of you or the fact that you’re gay. No one. Zero people. Well, maybe the family of the guy you killed with your restaurant. And they might be afraid of your restaurant but not you.
As for your being gay, the only person who seems obsessed with that is you.
What should rise to the level of fear is what the radicals are going to do with you if we allow you to continue to lie about corruption, ignore fraud, and perpetuate a political climate that encourages violent rhetoric and actual violence, which the DSA loves, by the way. One where the wealthy elites (that’s you, Goodlander, Hassan, and Shaheen, including her ideological mini-me Stefany) play at pseudo-Marxist policy games because you are afraid that admitting you agree with the DSA will cost you your election.
You’d be right about that, but you’re actually worse off than you imagine. Not only are you a rubber stamp and a placeholder if you win, you actually prevent someone from holding that office who will fight for America against the radicals taking over your party. The radicals you are distancing yourself from.
The only way to ensure that there is any real distance is to vote Republican.
