Welcome to your June 29th, 2026. Morning update.
A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state. The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
People like to talk about what the militia is. The militia is the people. It says it right in the amendment. You are the militia, I am the militia, we are all the militia, and we have a right to keep and bear arms. Not just any arms, but any arms.

So, Virginia, now being run by Democrats, decided that doesn’t really work for them. So they passed a ban, a firearms ban, an AR-15 assault weapons ban.
Well, you know there’s an oath you take when you become a sheriff or a prosecutor or a politician, and politicians break their oaths all the time. That’s presumed because they’re politicians. But sometimes you’ll find some people who won’t do that.
Headline: Twelve sheriffs, seventeen prosecutors who will not enforce Virginia’s AR-15 ban.
On May twenty fifth, Breitbart News reported that Spotsylvania Commonwealth’s attorney Ryan Mahathy had made clear he would not enforce the ban. Days later, Breitbart News pointed to a WAVY 10 article, which observed that the number of prosecutors refusing to enforce the ban was continuing to grow. We are now up to, as the headline says, 12 sheriffs and 17 prosecutors who took an oath and intend to keep it.
I’m curious to see what the state of Virginia has in mind as far as a response. Abigail Spanberger and her entire cadre of anything but moderate Democrats lied to them, lied to the people, they lied to the militia to get elected. And now they’re taking away their rights. And sheriffs and prosecutors are saying, no, no, we’re not going to enforce it. Good luck with that.
I’m sure there will be some kind of pushback and standoff and a bunch of you know, noise-making and stuff like that. But at the end of the day, somebody just needs to file a lawsuit. I’m sure they already did, and we may have even reported on it. We have so much information running through the sieve here that it’s often difficult to remember and keep up. But you are the militia. You have a right to defend yourself. You don’t have to, but that’s your choice. I seem to recall.
Back in the day, and I’m getting this from books, I obviously am not that old, it was kind of suspicious if you didn’t have a firearm. These days, the despots who want to control you would rather they were the only ones who had them. All the more reason you and your militia buddies should remain armed.
