This week on GrokTALK, blue states like to pretend to push back against federal forces they can’t get enough of when Democrats use them. Immigration is, of course, a big deal. Team MAGA wants illegals gone, and Team Blue wants them here despite saying otherwise for years. The tension creates conflict and a lot of stupidity on the part of those same democrats.

Welcome to another edition of Grok Talk brought to you by granitegrok.com and Grok Media LLC. if you hear a little street noise, it’s actually nice enough out to open the window. It’s been a little cold in New England, but we’re gonna have two 90 or nearly 90 degree days in a row, and then it’s gonna drop down into the 60s again. So.
Warm weather, a little blip, not for very long, and then more moderate temperatures. But we’re not here to talk about the weather, are we? Even though a lot of what’s political has to do with the weather. No, this week we’re talking about immigration, unintended consequences, FAFO. Vermont has a bill on the table that would somehow attempt to restrict or limit access to public school property to prevent ICE agents from going there.
It’s not going to work. And it’s not like they do it very often, but there are some very dangerous examples. We’re going to share those too. We’re going to talk about Tom Homman’s response to situations similar to that in New York state. And really a little FAFO. He’s not fooling around people. And remember, he was Obama’s deportation czar. And Obama deported a lot more illegals than Donald Trump. All that and more when Grok Talk starts in less than 60 seconds.
[ad break]
So great to have you back. ⁓ Lots of things are going on in the world. I often don’t have the slightest idea what I’m gonna do when it comes to Grok Talk. In fact, I’m recording this Monday morning. You’re gonna be watching it Monday evening. And there’s just a lot going on. You know, I do the daily updates. Sometimes I have the same problem. Look at an article, or you look at a subject, and you go, ” Wow, that’s amazing. I know exactly what I wanna talk about. And then sometimes you look at everything, and you’re like, I just can’t find something that really excites me. Well.
This was interesting. S-227 would restrict school cooperation with immigration enforcement from Dave Soulia, FYIVT.com. is on Vermont Daily Chronicle. Vermont lawmakers are considering a bill that would require schools to adopt immigration protocols restricting when school officials may cooperate with federal immigration enforcement and when law enforcement officers may access non-public areas of school buildings, as if they can tell the feds what to do.
This is federal law passed by Congress, promoted by Democrats, and now a state full of Democrats. It’s like, well, we don’t want them to do that. Yada yada yada, anyway.
S 227, titled an act relating to creating immigration protocols in Vermont schools, remains active in the legislature. According to the legislature’s bill status page, the bill was listed on May 12th as unfinished business, House proposal of amendment, meaning the House has amended the bill and sent it back to the Senate for further action. The Senate may concur with the House proposal, amended again, or send the bill to a conference committee once again.
It’s federal law. What is it with blue states? Let’s just reach back a little bit before we continue with this and then get into the Homman interview. Under Obama, Democrats didn’t believe in federalism at all. In fact, they hated it. They did everything they could to subvert it. Obama actually gave money to cities, mostly liberal ones, so they could buy bear cats, assault vehicles. And the only reason they did that, you know, and then a couple of years later, what were they all the police are the racist and evil and we have to defund them. It’s all bullshit.
They love the police. They gave them military weapons because the plan was for somebody like a president, Hillary, or her successor, somewhere along the line, to continue to use the weaponized executive branch that Mr. Obama created to nationalize the police force. And they would automatically have these military weapons. They would have bear cats. They would have assault vehicles. They would have all kinds of awesome tools. Democrats pretend they don’t like it very much.
which in fact they can’t achieve their goals without. So Mr. Trump got elected, which screwed everything up, so they decided to go after him. Hopefully, we will see some serious charges brought, but at no point have Democrats ever liked the police, even though they don’t like the police. They vote against things that are pro-police. The majority of Democrats in the House voted against a resolution to honor our fallen law enforcement heroes.
And it’s just, you know, the police aren’t perfect. They do things wrong all the time. Just ask Hollywood. You can’t watch a series without there being dirty cops or some kind of corruption. So anyway, it’s an interesting confluence and contradiction that they live with. They need the police, but they need the national police. It’s the local police they don’t like. They like them just fine if they want to tow the federal line, unless they’re not in charge. And of course, this isn’t that at all.
Now all of a sudden blue states are thinking, yeah, yeah, there’s 10 amendments in the Bill of Rights. And one of them says something about states and the people and they don’t give a crap about that either, but they’re trying. They’re thinking, well, why don’t we just make a big stink and see if we can do some things. And some Republicans will lay down like little puppies and let you rub their tummies. And other ones will say, no, sorry, that’s not how it’s gonna go.
Guess what? Donald Trump’s one of those guys. Illegal immigration is illegal. And if you have illegals in your buildings and in your farms and in your warehouses, they don’t belong there. They are here illegally. If no one is above the law. That means no one is above the law. So anyway, what the bill
The House version states that its purpose is to secure the right of every child to equal access to a free and public education. Don’t they already have that? God, Democrats are stupid. And to keep schools safe from intimidation and fear, regardless of immigration status. That doesn’t matter. Immigration status matters. You can’t make that go away.
There’s a long list of democrat presidents and democrat politicians who have made it clear that illegal aliens are here illegally with children or some of that street noise I promised, or without Obama, the deporter in chief, sent many of them home.
He had people getting arrested and detained for traffic stops, which as we’ve reported recently in the past is, it’s forbidden now, how dare you? Why would you do that? They’re just driving around. Obama did it. It was federal policy. Anyway.
House proposal of amendment would add a new section of law requiring immigration protocols in public and approved independent schools. The bill would prohibit schools from collecting or requesting information about a student or family ⁓ members citizenship or immigration status unless required by law are needed for a state or federally supported education program. You know, it’s interesting, I could keep reading this, but what you get down to the bottom of it, there’s a lot of words. And at the end of the day,
If the federal government is following the law, there’s nothing they can do about it. But what they’re doing is they’re making people think that they have a right to obstruct the legal action of law-abiding federal officers in the pursuit of criminals. Now, I don’t think they should just be handing out public information about children willy-nilly, but they do it all the time already. All the data collection they do.
They’re not the least bit interested in children’s privacy. None. So anyway, that’s goofy as hell. So we’re going to come back to this in a second, because it’s a good article. And there are some interesting things in it that will have bearing on the debate. We’re going to switch over to a piece of the Daily Signal. And this is an interview with Tom Homman.
And so basically, New York has passed a law that again means absolutely nothing really in real terms, but they’re just making it more dangerous for everybody. That’s what this law does. It doesn’t make anybody safer. It doesn’t protect anybody’s privacy. It doesn’t do anything but increase risk if the law matters, if no one is above the law. So.
I’m watching New York Democrats today, and they are moving to limit local cooperation with immigration and customs enforcement. They’re moving to restrict you and ban you and ICE officers from even wearing masks, as I’ve seen a massive surge in the type of violence that’s coming out against ICE agents. The question continues.
Tom Holman, couple of things.
First of all, (you) know, good luck with the law and banning masks. Federal law always trumps state and local law. And while threats are up over 8000%, masks is a non-starter. So good luck enforcing that.
Second thing, if you talk about New York, you know, I met with Governor Hokel a couple of months ago, and I told her about what happened in Minnesota, that, you know, we were able to draw some resources out of Minnesota because the local jails cooperated with us. And I told her the same thing, because I knew this legislation was coming. I said, ” Look, you end cooperation in the jails, we’re going to have to send more agents to do the job. Because now, rather than one agent arresting one bad guy in the jail, which is safer for the agent, safer for the alien, safer for the community,
Of course, you’re going to release him. Now we got to send a whole team, six or seven agents to go find him. So it’s going to result in more agents in the community. Totally briefed on the whole thing, but she decided to go ahead and do it anyway. Well, I made a statement that we’re going to send more agents to New York. We have to as a response to this to go arrest those public safety threats. I also told her that there’s going to be two things that she may not like.
Number one, in addition to more agents in your communities, that’s going to mean one, that when we find the bad guy, and we usually do, they may be with others that weren’t a criminal target, but they’re in the country illegally. Well, guess what? We’re going to arrest them too. We’re not going to turn a blind eye to illegal immigration, which means They’ll be more collateral arrests because of your decision to force us into the community. And second,
Part of her legislation prevents ICE from leasing beds from sheriffs across the state, which we use a lot of beds. We use a lot of those beds. That means every illegal alien we arrest, we’re simply gonna fly out of the state of New York or out of Arizona or wherever. we’re going to arrest them. We’re going to detain them. And so you wanna lock us out of New York jails for detention, then we’ll simply fly them out.
And I explained to her, how does that benefit the people you’re saying you’re trying to protect? How does that protect the immigrant community? Moving them away from their family and their attorneys while they go through the immigration proceedings? It doesn’t. So look, this is just a political spitball. And you know, it’s they’re not going to stop us from doing what we’re doing. We’re just going to have to do more of it because of those, you know, the legislation you passed.
Basically, what he’s saying and he goes on and on about this. All your law does is make our job harder and the opposite of what you claim to be doing. You say you’re helping the community, but you’re not. They could just pick the guy up at the courthouse. They could just pick the guy up at the jail. But instead, now they’ve let him go. They have to go into the community. The community doesn’t want him there. The community doesn’t want the criminal alien there either. But the police had him in custody. They’ve released him back into the community. Just like black-on-black crime.
These illegal immigrants who are career criminals, and some of them are nut jobs from other countries who were just let out of their jails or crazy houses, and sent here. They’re causing harm in their own immigrant community. Immigrants who are here legally and immigrants who are here illegally but are not criminal targets are the victims of illegal immigrant crimes more than anybody else.
You’re harming the immigrants. And now you’re harming them by releasing them back into the community, forcing ICE agents to come in and disrupt their lives to find them. And if anybody else is there illegally who is not a criminal target, they’re getting arrested because no one is above the law. They broke the law. Democrats passed those laws. They voted for them. Don’t pretend they didn’t. You just invited that.
You made it necessary. Mr. Trump has been clear. Mr. Homman has been clear.
The election was very clear. He ran on getting these illegals out of the country, and he won a landslide, and that’s what they’re doing. They’re doing what they said they’d do in the election. I know a lot of politicians don’t do that. It’s not in their blood. I lie about some stuff. I pretend to do some stuff. Every now and then, I might vote the right way on a bill that has no chance of passing. Things like that. You know, that’s pretty normal stuff for a politician. But this is the real deal. You’re talking about human beings, and you’re concerned about human beings.
You’re not concerned about human beings. You’re concerned about power. You want those people there so you can count them in the next census. So you can have more electoral votes in blue states. So you can have more members of Congress. You’re losing your freaking minds over a whole bunch of things that are completely political, and you don’t care about people. You just don’t. Here’s an example from the article in Vermont Daily Chronicle. Real-world cases behind the debate.
I’m gonna drink some coffee.
This is not a theoretical concern. Remember, they want to make it as difficult as possible for ICE agents to access school buildings to retrieve people in them who may be here legally.
In Maryland, Walter Javier Martinez, an MS-13 member from El Salvador who entered the United States illegally, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the killing of Kayla Hamilton. The Hartford County State’s attorney said Martinez entered the country illegally in March of 2022 and confirmed he was an MS-13 member. Project Baltimore later reported that Martinez attended Maryland public schools while the murder investigation was underway, and the school officials were not told he was a murder suspect or gang-affiliated.
Probably because they wanted to catch him. But anyway.
In Virginia, Fairfax High School student Israel Flores Ortiz was found guilty of nine assault counts involving female classmates. WJLA reported that federal officials identified him as unlawfully present in the United States, hiding in a public school as a student. In Ohio, Anthony Emmanuel Labrador Sierra, a Venezuelan National unlawfully residing in the country, posed as a teenager and attended Perrysburg High School. The US Department of Justice later said he was sentenced for lying on immigration forms and firearm purchase applications while enrolled at the local high school.
So there’s probably more examples of this. If you look young enough, you could pretend to be in a school or pretend to be in high school And then what? The feds can’t come in and get them? Some of these people are career criminals. And they’ve come here to steal our tax dollars. And when it’s convenient, steal from us and possibly take our lives. So Mr. Homman’s concern as applied to this metric.
Vermont wants to make it difficult for ICE agents to go into schools. They don’t do it very often. It’s really rare. And the only time they might ever come for a child is if one of their parents or both of their parents are here illegally, and they are going to go home, and they want the child to go with them.
because we want them to be with their parents, and their parents have been detained. Do you not want the child with their parents?
I mean, we also have the issue of the half a million children that the Biden administration misplaced, of which the Trump administration has found tens and tens of thousands so far because they went and looked and they’ve reunited them with their families, either here or abroad, because they were trafficked.
because Joe Biden opened the border and Kamala Harris did nothing to prevent this sort of thing from happening. The Democrat Party embraced it as a policy idea because they just wanted bodies, and they didn’t care if they were child trafficked bodies, sex trafficked bodies, drug trafficked bodies, any, none of that mattered. Actual deaths, harm, property theft, they didn’t care.
And it’s happening in Democrat cities to Democrat voters, almost primarily Blacks, immigrants, and minorities. They’re the ones who are harmed by this. All so Democrats could have a little bit more political power and possibly secure the goal of a one-party state. Vermont kind of already is a one-party state. mean…
I know Phil Scott’s the governor, and he’s a Republican, sort of. I mean, he’s better than nothing. He’s better than a Democrat. That’s about all I could say. I hear he’s a great guy. I’m sure he is a wonderful guy. I can have a beer with him. Whatever, we could talk about NASCAR. I don’t know, whatever. He raced cars, I guess. It doesn’t really matter, okay? Vermont is going down the shitter. You have massive tax problems. You have growing crime problems.
You have… human trafficking problems, you have immigration problems. And if ICE wants to come and help you clean up your state so that people start net migrating in, not just for vacation homes, but to actually live there and invest in the communities and build, I don’t know, jobs, something, that’s not what’s happening. And it’s not happening because of crap like this.
Because when you do this, you’re just inviting more illegal aliens, and you’re inviting more crime, and you’re inviting more drugs. And it doesn’t help kids. It’s bad for children. You’re not protecting them. This bill isn’t protecting them. It’s a complete waste of legislative energy.
Because, well, it’s to pad some liberal resumes. That’s really all it’s for. Look what I did. I did this incredibly useless thing. Like when they defunded the police. They defunded the Burlington police. They defunded the state police. They can’t get police officers to work in that state.
You can’t investigate crimes. [We] reported in 23-24 how the state police couldn’t help the locals who didn’t have enough police officers to investigate crimes. So crimes were going under un or under investigated. What does that do? Does it invite less crime? Look, they don’t really have the resources to see who did this. Hmm, I guess I’ll just be a good citizen not do anything. It invites more crime.
Democrat policies do exactly the opposite of what they’re advertised every single time. They’re dangerous to human life, to human flourishing, to prosperity, and to any concept of greatness as a nation.
Because they don’t want any of that. They just want power. And this is just another stupid example of Democrats pretending to do something that, at the end of the day, will only make matters worse. If the feds need to get into a school for some reason, they’re not going to send one agent. They’re going to send six or seven. And you know what? Nobody’s going to be able to stop them because federal law is pretty clear. This is their job.
This is what they get paid to do, and they are intent on doing it. And if you are here illegally, they have given you the opportunity to self-deport. You can just leave. They’ll even give you some money. If you stay and you aren’t here legally, there’s going to be problems. And Mr. Homman has explained it very clearly. All you’re doing is making it more difficult. All right.
I have babbled on long enough about that. I’m not sure how many times I repeated myself, but I think it was a couple. Anyway, that’s it for this week. Whatever you do, don’t let Democrats be in charge of anything. You will regret it.
We’ll talk to you next week.
