It may not be THE criminal Mecca, but it has to be close. During the Summer of Love in Minneapolis, crime was king. Looting, arson, rape, assault, and murder were protected behind the patina of mostly peaceful protests. It inspired autonomous zones in other places where women were raped, robbed, shot, and killed.
The progressives who allowed all of this responded by defunding the police, and those cities have been understaffed ever since. Reports of crime decline were either the result of less crime after the riots ended (but more than before), or they were fudging the figures by not reporting incidents that looked like crime to victims but not to the leadership tasked with reporting them.
Fast forward to 2025/2026, Minneapolis, and they are at it again. This time, instead of ranting and nearly rioting about one career criminal, they are pretending to protect thousands of them and hoping to make enough of a distraction that you’ll forget about all the fraud you paid for that they’d like to keep injecting into the local economy.
Plenty of money is getting tossed around to fund paid protestors, crisis actors, professional agitators, and the like. They claim they are there in response to “fear in the community.” What they are doing is creating that fear and leveraging it for political points. They are also putting actual Minnesotans at risk. By overreacting to fake crime, they are again creating opportunities for real crime.
Local leadership, the police chief of Minneapolis, and the paid protesters are telling everyone to call 911 if they see ICE agents. This is overwhelming the switchboard, making it difficult or impossible for anyone experiencing actual crime to reach law enforcement.
Not all criminals are stupid. And while they aren’t stealing billions with help from the local government, NGO’s, and even insurance companies, all of whom appear to benefit financially from that fraud, the same actors telling people to tie up the 911 system over ICE agents enforcing federal law, are helping criminals get away with crimes.
The people of Minneapolis are ensuring that people in Minneapolis are not only victims of an illegal immigrant community, but that everyone can be a victim, as criminals take advantage of the situation.
