MacDonald: Your Town Could Be Targeted Next If You Don’t Sign This Petition

The moment that you isolate any group politically for special recognition or privilege, the idea that we are all the same goes out the window. Equality is only possible in concept or fact if our most common denominator defines us. We are all human; therefore, human rights apply to everyone.

It becomes unnecessary to enumerate things like age, sex, or race, but the only way to get there from here is to teach this without a focus on them.

It is not the insurmountable achievement some might imagine, but it begins by exposing the lies of programs like DEI and CRT, which are racist and discriminatory, as well as the more radical factions of the LGBT factions and their virtue-signalling allies in elected office.

All you need to do is teach respect for all life and the constitutional obligation of government to protect our shared rights, but the City of Keene is considering a measure to make a special exception.

There is no reason for it, and concerned citizens and business owners in Keene have crafted a petition to that end.

In Support of Equal Respect for All Residents

We, the undersigned residents of Keene and surrounding towns who do business in Keene regularly, affirm our deep respect for all individuals, regardless of their identity, background, or personal choices. We strongly support the right of every person to live freely and with dignity, so long as that freedom does not infringe upon the rights of others.

At the same time, we are concerned about the proposal to designate Keene as a “sanctuary city” for a specific identity group. While we believe this effort is likely rooted in goodwill, we feel that such designations—by elevating one group for special recognition—risk undermining the principle of equal honor and respect for all people.

True inclusivity does not require singling out any one population for symbolic sanctuary; rather, it calls us to foster a city culture that is welcoming, fair, and free of favoritism across the board.

We are also mindful of how such declarations may affect Keene’s public image. Highlighting what might be deemed a political or ideological position could unintentionally signal to families, potential residents, or businesses that Keene is no longer a place of broad civic neutrality—but one where particular identities or beliefs are favored above others. Being a welcoming, inclusive community means favoring, and excluding, no-one.

We urge the Council to consider these concerns carefully; to prioritize unity, fairness, and balanced representation in all civic actions and policies; and to reject the petition to designate Keene a sanctuary city for the LGBTQ+ community.

Respectfully,

I encourage you to read and sign it, even if you are not local to the area. As one reader observed, “Anyone who does not want their town to be targeted to become an LGBTQ Safe Haven better sign this !!”

Need some motivation? What exactly is this declaration meant to do? According to Keene Pride, who submitted it,

  1. Safety and Support: It would provide immediate reassurance to our LGBTQ+ community members that Keene is a safe haven, encouraging them to live openly and authentically without fear of discrimination or harm.
  2. Promoting Equality: This action would send a powerful message that our city prioritizes equal rights and will resist discriminatory practices. It will enhance our local reputation as a welcoming community.
  3. Community Engagement: Establishing Keene as a sanctuary city would foster ongoing dialogue and collaboration between city leaders, local organizations like Keene Pride, and community stakeholders to create programs and initiatives that uplift and support LGBTQ+ residents.

Keene is already required by state law to protect individuals from fear, intimidation, and discrimination, so as far as I can tell, Keene Pride is hiding behind a lie to gain special access in the name of the LGBT community that it claims doesn’t exist, which is a separate problem.

Is the City of Keene not engaging in collaboration with the LGBT Community or its organizations in the same way it would with other groups? If true, the City is discriminating, and the problem is specific to current city leadership and these groups; but we have laws in place to address that (and a void of stories about it actually happening).

If that claim is demonstrably false, then this claim seeks special access, and the city ought to dismiss it and the request for sanctuary.

As for any suggestion that this community needs the sanctuary designation for those who feel threatened or unwelcome, you might want to take a look in the mirror.

Keene could benefit from becoming a free speech sanctuary City, a Second Amendment sanctuary, and a refuge for parents who don’t want their kids groomed with cartoon porn in grade school. How about a sanctuary for people with different political views at city and school board meetings, or just on the street?

Talk about feeling threatened and unwelcome.

Anyone who believes life begins at conception or thinks children should have a father and a mother can expect a rough time in the City of Keene.

Students who defend religious liberty, energy independence, closed borders, Israel’s right to defend itself, deporting illegals, or dare to wear anything red that might say Make America Great Again could benefit from a sanctuary designation as well.

I could keep going.

By declaring itself an LGBTQ sanctuary, the City is discriminating against every other group or individual who has and does feel threatened or unwelcome in and around the City of Keene.

They are better off not going there, but if they do, it opens every other community in the state to the same blinkered nonsense.

There are 389 signers. They want 400, but we should be able to reach the thousands with more than 400 local signers. However, that’s all up to you.

Sign the petition to help stop this partisan madness, and then please share it.
