We do have some of the Left persuasion that do visit GraniteGrok and comment. Possibly to their great surprise, I actually welcome them here for the discussions and the debates – it was never intended that the ‘Grok be an echo chamber. However, there have been some times that questions ARE asked by other commenters but seem to go unanswered – text, yes, but not a head on, straight forward answer (e.g., at what point do taxes become too high – what is an upper limit percentage-wise?).

Here’s a series of ten questions I’ve yet to see anyone on the Left answer:
- Are there any limits at all on what government can make someone do? If so, where would those limits come from?
- Are women a protected class? Re: Planet Fitness / Yvette Cormier and Memories Pizzeria in Indiana.
- How come we are having this debate at all? Didn’t your side promise the American people for years “no one would lose their freedom if we allowed the freedom to marry?” Were you purposefully dishonest when you repeatedly trotted out that now discredited line, or just naive?
- Do you know how many times RFRA laws have been used to discriminate against someone for their sexuality?
- Was President Obama a “bigot” when he voted for the RFRA while in the Illinois state legislature, given the fact Illinois didn’t offer protections for a person’s sexuality at the time?
Was President Clinton a “bigot” when he signed the RFRA sponsored by liberals like Senators Chuck Schumer and Ted Kennedy into law, without the federal government affording protected class status to homosexuals? - If we’re going to urge sporting events to “boycott Indiana” because of its RFRA law, are you prepared to apply this equally across the board?
- How come you haven’t told people the federal RFRA legislation was used by the Supreme Court last year to side with Hobby Lobby on the abortion issue?
- Do you think blacks are a protected class? The black fire chief of Atlanta was fired for writing a book on his own personal opinion that agreed with what the Bible teaches about sexuality. Is he no longer a protected class as a racial minority once he dissents with homosexuality?
- How far are you willing to take this? Do you think a Jewish baker should be forced to bake a cake that has a swastika on it for an anti-Semite? Should a homosexual print shop owner have to print material for the hate-mongers at Westboro Baptist? If hardcore pornography is protected under the First Amendment’s freedom of speech, then can a gay porn producer demand a family-owned theater chain show their movies to mainstream audiences? Do we retain any rights of conscience at all when someone asks us for a service that is offensive to us?
Given how convinced our friends on the Left are about the self-righteousness of their cause, answering these questions shouldn’t present much of a challenge. But I wouldn’t recommend holding your breath waiting for the answers, because the Secular Inquisition is in full bloom now.
