The Terminal List is a series on Prime Video, based on a book(s) by former SEAL Jack Carr. It is quite popular with the hoi polloi, and quite unpopular with the elites, as you can see from this Rotten Tomatoes rating:
It is easy to understand why the Terminal List is so unpopular with the elites. WARNING: potential spoilers follow.
There is no Russian villain. Worse still, the “bad guys” are not all white cis-gendered males.
The Chris Pratt character, James Reece, is a white male, happily married, with a family. He owns guns. He hunts. He teaches his daughter to hunt.
While one of the “good guys” is an Asian female, she is not the right kind of Asian female. Her backstory is that her family fled Communist China and her father was imprisoned or killed before he could join them.

The difference is that things are even worse today than they were in 1980, as is the disconnect between ordinary Americans and the elites. In addition to the inflation and the stagflation and the totally botched Afghanistan withdrawal, we have CRT and grooming in our schools, totally open borders, shortages of baby formula, empty grocery store shelves … and yet all we hear from the elites is J6-J6-J6, abortion-abortion-abortion and Ukraine-Ukraine-Ukraine.
There is that feeling today among ordinary, everyday Americans, as there was in 1980, that our civic “leaders” are, AT BEST, not up to the task or, AT WORST, causing our problems. And that we need to make a drastic change.
And that feeling is reflected, I think, in the popularity of the Terminal List among ordinary, everyday Americans. They are not buying what the Biden-regime and the elites are selling them, just as ordinary, everyday Americans stopped buying what Jimmy Carter and the elites of his day were peddling.
Those Terminal List viewers, and like-minded people, are going to be voters in November. And they’re not going to be voting the way the elites panning the Terminal List think they should.
