HB1159, the “Shut the Grok down” bill, was created by Democrat NH State Representatives who decided they had had enough of GraniteGrok quoting their own words and then commenting upon them.
Our friends would then alert us to something else stupid or dumb they’d said or done and we’d write about that.
My testimony against the bill, bluntly put was:
If someone says or does stupid things, we’ll write about them. If they keep it up, we’ll write about them more.
The Democrats kept believing that we only picked on them and never went after Republicans (right, Charles McMahon? Joel Desilets?). So, not true, and of late, we have NH Governor Chris Sununu as a prime example.
Because he keeps doing the Stupidest thing of all – acting like an elected King.

Governor declines Hudson invitation, calls logistics center a ‘very good project‘
In response to a request by opponents of a proposed warehouse campus in Hudson to tour the 400-acre property and discuss the project, Gov. Chris Sununu said he supports the development and will not weigh in further on a local decision.
“I think it’s a very good project,” Sununu said at a Thursday news conference.
If he had left it at that, it might have been alright. Two years ago, however, Sununu decided to start a jeremiad about how poorly developers were often treated at the local levels to the point of putting bills into the hopper that would tilt control away from local control and to the developers via the thumb of the State Government on the scale.
He even wanted volunteer planners to have to take tests (e.g., CHAMPIONS OF PLANNING!). When I heard it, all I could think of the overall plan was that he wanted New York-style law here in NH that would have changed a lot about the process and the zoning regs themselves.
A lot of people were really upset – the clueless attorney just couldn’t understand WHY we, who valued local control, couldn’t understand why we hated the idea of “having centralized State control” imposed.
And then he stepped in it:
The governor said the Hudson Logistics Center, in which Amazon would be the primary operator, is a huge economic opportunity for the town and the state. He characterized the opponents of the development on Green Meadow Golf Club land as a “small cohort of individuals” and abutters.
Way to go, Guv! Just dismiss those that would, not surprisingly enough, keep their community “the NH way.”
If they, through their local elected Representatives, decided that they wanted to keep the culture that they grew up in or moved to, and were unwilling to go along with or believe developers’ promises, why is it that Concord should set a table against them?
But Sununu is not just “pro-developer” – he’s ALL in and shows how much in those few words.
That’s how the Left works – be dismissive of the complaint, brush its creators aside. You know – just cranks who blindly stand in the way of PROGRESS! “Who DO these little people of SaveHudsonNH.org think they are??” is the message Sununu sent.
