Years ago, when running for the U.S. House, and then the Senate, Phil Gramm would say something to voters, if he had just a second with them. This would be on the street or at a fair or what have you. He’d say, “Hi, I’m Phil Gramm, and I’ll try to keep the government out of your wallet.”
I wonder whether that line would be effective today when so many are concerned with what the government can put in their wallet.
