I’m afraid Kelly Ayotte is not with us on another issue, either: debt ceiling

Nh Delegation shackles kids with another trillion in debtNothing that is voted upon at 3am can be a good deal for ordinary Americans – especially when phrased as “a gift” from now former and retired Speaker Boehner to new Speaker Paul Ryan (“cleaning out the barn”).  Sorry, Steve, Kelly Ayotte is showing us again that going DC is not helpful – she showed her willingness to again go against what she campaigned against: a Leviathan Government.  And she gave what one other Republican Senator called a:

diamond encrusted glow in the dark AmEx card

to Obama as there is absolutely NO limit now to the oblivion into which Obama can spend.  But never fear, Kelly, you aren’t alone on that road away from Conservatism – your McCain Sidecar friend Lindsay Graham was there right by your side in letting the national debt now go up by Trillions. So I don’t want to hear a WORD out of you claiming to be for a smaller, less costly government when now we can call you Kelly “Blank Check” Ayotte.

Sure, it

gives more money for defense – but also more for what is important to Obama and the Dems: more domestic spending (to the tune of $80 Billion).  And all that spending is upfront and all of the supposed “spending cuts” are afterwards – like out to 2025.  Once again, led by Kelly Ayotte’s vote, the Republicans show they are the Stupid Party.  Seriously, you REALLY think that those spending cuts will actually happen? EVER?  History shows us that if you do, you’re spouting “Unicorns and pixie sprinkles” rhetoric.  The Dems will make sure that they will NEVER happen.

And again as part of this backroom deal, seniors are going to see another $150 Billion snatched from Social Security to give to SSDI (you know, that fund that has massive fraud in it by just a ton of folks getting into it as an alternative to unemployment (especially if their time on it has lapsed).

Instead, you’ve helped them achieve two of their biggest short term goals – no limits to debts and the removal (with Republican help) of the hated Sequestration.  Yes, it hurt, but it has been the only time that we’ve had where the Fed Government has been handcuffed.  And all I’ve heard from you yahoos in DC is what a horrible thing it has been.

Not only that, how’s this going to play on the Presidential election?  Just like NH GOP Committeeman Steve Duprey kneecaps you by giving money to Planned Parenthood’s Action Fund (who has sworn to take you out simply because you’re a Republican), you’ve effectively removed what should have been a very effective tool against Hillary Clinton – mindless spending that will make us all slaves to the financial burden that will soon get us all when the Feds start raising rates.

And bypassed the normal job of doing budgets every year by agreeing with a two year deal outside of the regular public hearings / committee work by a backroom / elite Leader work – this is true representation in taxation?

So, how are you going to defend keeping money for defense when the Dems start crying “Look at all the hurting people” when the debt payments exceed the defense budget?  And you’re raising that debt limit?

This summarizes it well:

The bill is the product of an unfair, dysfunctional, and undemocratic process — a process that is virtually indistinguishable from what we promised the American people a G.O.P.-controlled Congress would bring to an end,” Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) said from the Senate floor.

He added that the legislation “represents the last gasping breath of a disgraced bipartisan beltway establishment on the verge of collapse.”

A gasping breath.  I can tell you if you thought by passing this that the Debt Ceiling was going to be taken off the election campaign table, I can assure you it will not.  Be careful for what you vote for – it may come back to bite you.

No, Kelly, don’t even try that lame “we’ll default!” argument – there’s plenty of money coming into the Treasury – record setting amounts to boot!  It’s just that you’re spending FAR more still than that and we see no ghost of a chance from you of doing what you campaigned on – making the Fed Government smaller.  What, not even an effort in chopping off some of the little agencies that no one knows exists (as Steve posted a while ago, we don’t even know we have!)?

And an afterthought: seriously, who was the bright light that thought that selling off oil at less than what we paid for it from the Strategic Oil Reserves is a good idea – just because we need the money?

Glenn Reynolds has the right of it:

See, stuff like this is why Trump is doing so well.
