Mike Biundo, potential candidate for New Hampshire’s GOP Chair, writes a letter to his supporters on Facebook:
From the Desk of Michael Biundo:
Friends –
First, I want to thank everyone for all of the support you have shown. It is an honor to be considered for the position of New Hampshire Republican Committee Chairman. I have talked with delegates, friends and most importantly my family. It has become clear that if I do run, I will have both support at home and a path to victory. As you know, I only have been seriously talking to people about running for a week now and I can honestly say that I am humbled by the response.
As I speak with the newly elected committee members, I am finding that they are looking for a candidate that understands both how to win elections and just how important it is to keep the promises we made to those who put their trust in our candidates during the past election. They are looking for a leader that will build on the grassroots success that was accomplished during Governor Sununu’s term and raise the significant funds needed to win in the elections of November of 2012. They are looking for someone who will be a good spokesman for our party and be the steady hand that is needed when the heat of the elections fire burns hot. They are looking for someone who is tested and I believe I could be that type of Chairman otherwise I would not even consider running.
My diverse background in both serving as a senior advisor, campaign manager and grassroots director to local, statewide and congressional campaigns, including Congressman-elect Frank Guinta’s elections for Mayor and his 2010 victory over incumbent Carol Shea-Porter puts me in the unique position to understand what it is like to be in the middle of an election storm.
Having been a elected member of the New Hampshire House, my legislative background and my time working with the House Republican Alliance gives me the experience to work with our new majorities.
Having also played a senior role in several Presidential Campaign efforts as a spokesman, advisor and senior staff member, I have routinely interacted with the national press core. Having been Executive Director of groups like Gun Owners of New Hampshire and New Hampshire Citizens for Term Limits, as well as most recently building and serving as Chairman of the New Hampshire Advantage Coalition, I have a deep connection with the all important grassroots community.
All that being said, I am just not ready yet to make a final decision on whether to run or not. When I started this process, my goal was to try to make a final decision by sometime this afternoon. However, personal family commitments have precluded me from giving this decision all the time it deserves. At this time, I am not going to set a firm timetable on my announcement date but only say I understand that time is short and that if I do get into this race, I will do so to win and it will receive my full attention. I therefore ask both those that are already doing so, and those that are considering supporting me to be patient for a little while longer.
Best Wishes and Thank You,
Mike Biundo
