So Kids, What Did We Learn From Wednesday’s House Session (01/05/22)?

We learned that 400 legislators (along with House staff) can fit comfortably, socially distanced, in the Manchester DoubleTree Expo Center and get important work done, despite difficult acoustics. Well, at least the Senate is utilizing the newly, and beautifully, renovated Reps Hall in Concord.

A Response to Rep. Lucy McVitty Weber’s Partisan Attack

After reading Rep. Lucy McVitty Weber’s op-ed (see below) which was unsurprisingly a partisan attack piece, I’d like to set the record straight.  She is accurate in saying that legislating in these times has been challenging. The challenge has mostly been how to deal with people who balk at the NH House doing anything other than meeting remotely.

Will the NH High Court Allow Fully Remote Legislative Sessions or Do They Violate the Constitution?

If you missed it, in late September, Democrat leadership advanced a motion, rammed through might be a better turn of phrase, to request an opinion of the State’s High Court. Mother May I go to a full remote session without violating Part II, Article 20 of the NH Constitution (achieving a quorum). Problem? Plenty of them.
