The Sedately Blindfolded…

At first glance, I thought “oh, a juxtaposition of encroaching Islam and the West’s willing full blindness to it”. But after just an exhale, I thought, the clear, focused eye of the vigilant vs the languid, insouciant, and blithe blindfolded adorning rube extends beyond the global cultural tectonic  shifts.  The blindfold’s breadth is exceedingly broad.  … Read more

Guest Post by Susan Carroll, Rochester 912 – “Lie after Lie”

by Skip

Yes, tonite is Guest Post nite – and can be almost any night.  We try to have new and interesting content on the ‘Grok each and every day – but we Groksters all have full time jobs and full time families (to whom are are grateful in allowing us to soldier on in the fight for Liberty & Freedom).  Part of our mission to engage and increase those that would be willing to stand with us – and if they wish to write, well, doing guest posts is the Right thing to do and are happy to do so!

Lie after Lie

As a country we are at a critical juncture: which path will we take? I love America, just not the America I find myself in today. The lines of community vs. collectivism have blurred. Generosity is now taken out of your neighbors pocket not your own. Much of what we see happening today is the direct result of lies, outright blatant lies. Lies spread by those who wish to “transform” America, change America into what it is not, and they are succeeding. The seeds of these lies have been disseminated for many years.

First lie: Democracy. Every pundit and talking head, left or right, states we are a “democracy”. Indeed we even profess to be spreading democracy in the Middle East! Our Founders are rolling over in their graves as they went to every possible extent to enshrine a Constitutional Republic, a Nation of Laws. They knew all too well the failings and evils of democracy. They classified “democracy” as two wolves and a lamb deciding what is for dinner”. Liberty is an armed lamb contesting that vote. The only thing “democratic” about our form of government is our elections process. In a democracy the majority can take the rights away from the minority. In our Republic, our rights come from our Creator as stated clearly in our Declaration, and are protected by our Constitution. Rights are not privileges; rights that you are born with and are protected by these documents cannot be taken by a tyrannical government. In a Democracy, if 51% of the people decide that all people who are 5’3” with green eyes should be exterminated it can be done: not so in a Republic. In a Democracy if 51% of the people think the other 49% should pay to support them, it is done…this is what democracy breeds. It is where we are today.

Second lie: Separation of Church and State..

Secession By Atrophy

Ah, what’s a little secession between states, eh?  So a state is no longer under the auspices of the United States, it’ll be an orphan. Big deal. What do you think will happen? That the forlorn and forgotten former territory of the United State will sit in pathetic darkness like a shivering punished child at an Oliver Twist orphanage after ditching all of the other states to go off on its own, and now is no longer welcome? That trade will cease between the former compatriots, and an occasional border skirmish will break out like a resentful anthema on the blistered skin of envy?  C’mon, that won’t happen…. okay maybe that will happen.

But if you’re one of those screaming “Secession!”, a little patience may serve you well. It might happen, maybe not officially, but in effect secession has a chance to occur if we do not soon take an exit from the economic road on which we are currently speeding. We’re $16,000,000,000,000 in debt, and nowhere in sight is there any curtailing indicator.  As I and others have stated previously that once a dollar is payment on the debt, that same dollar cannot be then used for other things. As the debt begins to siphon funds from Federal Government responsibilities to the bondholders, that money cannot be used again, and choices must be made.
