As we have seen over the last two years, School Board members believe they are beyond reproach and approach. Watch as this poor dad pleads with the Prince William County School Board for an answer to an extremely personal question.
It’s like the Policy in Gilford. School Board members won’t engage with the public at “public meetings.”
I’ve had to sue my School Board to get answers to simple questions like what New Hampshire State Law gives you the power to do what you are doing?
And just like Jeffrey Darr (below), there are millions of us, across the entire nation, who have gone through the frustration of never getting answers from our Elected Representatives.
But my questions PALE in comparison to his:
#NotJustLoudoun: Northern Virginia father tells school board his daughter was "sexually assaulted," claims the assailant was only suspended for "one day"

My heart breaks for this man and is full of fury toward yet another School Board that treats its voters and parents disdainfully (reformatted, emphasis mine):
At a Prince William County School Board meeting in Virginia on Wednesday, Jeffery Darr told the board that his 13-year-old daughter was “sexually assaulted,” but that the school only suspended the alleged attacker for one day “for improper touching.” Board members first sat in silence as Darr demanded to know what was being done to protect students.
“Does anyone have any answers?” Darr repeated, as the board continued to sit in silence. Eventually, Darr was told to send an email and asked to “step aside.”
“I want the public to know, that’s why I’ve come here,” Darr shot back.
“We won’t be answering you, but you can certainly keep asking,” responded Board Chair Babur Lateef.
That School Board just sent a message to everyone that YOUR daughter doesn’t matter. Sexual assault doesn’t matter. And YOU, Dad, don’t rise to the level to deserve an answer. Just go away is the message – “send an email” is just a more condescending way to say “hit the road, Jack” (and preferably face first).
WHY do we, the general public, countenance such behavior from these self-righteous prigs?
I will tell you that Defend Our Kids, a group with which I am working, is getting good candidates to run for School Boards in 53 communities here in NH. We find them, we help them, we support them, mentor them, and will be in for the long haul in changing how our failing Government schools can be reformed. And certainly, part of that reform is to get new school board members elected that WILL answer to voters and Parents questions, that will actively work in staying accountable and transparent. You want to run, you want to help others if you can’t run? Send me an email (Skip@GraniteGrok.com) – I’ll get you hooked up.
And they have a lot of examples showing them, here in NH and countrywide, how NOT to act like this school board.
Could not ONE of those members even mention the policy name / ID, to tell that Dad, Mr. Darr, where the School Board website was located and how to find their approved Policy list?
No – they just sat there, complicit in shaming and canceling what happened to his young teenage daughter.
Erased.
Sadly, that seems to be the main reason that most School Boards exist – cancel others in order to sit on the dias or behind the Big Desk and be Somebody.

Heartless, just heartless. And yet these same people are perfectly fine in berating the CEOs of large companies never considering that they are even worse.
