It is not a story I’d typically cover, but when you hear the particulars, you’ll see why it was hard to pass up. Shawn P. Weiner Sr., 35, of Somersworth, was arrested and charged by the NH State Police with indecent exposure and lewdness, reckless conduct, two counts of disorderly conduct, and littering. The Dover police filed additional charges related to the vehicle Weiner stole and the crash that resulted in his exiting the vehicle (after which he removed his clothes and crossed multiple lanes of traffic…nude).
Why did a nude guy named Shawn P. Weiner cross the road? To get to the other side. P. Weiner. Nude. His name could have Dick Johnson, John Thomas, or Peter – maybe that’s what the P stands for. Shawn Peter Weiner. How much do your parents have to hate you to name you that?
DOVER, N.H. – A Somersworth man was arrested after fleeing the scene of a crash, naked, and disrupting highway traffic.
At 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2025, the New Hampshire State Police Communications Unit received several reports of a man causing an interruption to traffic on Route 16 in Dover. Multiple passing drivers reported that the man was naked and running or walking within the travel lanes of the highway.
State Troopers assigned to the Troop A barracks responded to the area and quickly located the naked man. With the assistance of officers from the Dover Police Department, Troopers were able to take the man into custody and identified him as Shawn P. Weiner Sr., 35, of Somersworth. Weiner was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries suffered in the crash.
It remains unclear why he took his clothes off or thought it the best idea he could manage to cross route 16 – a multi-lane high-speed thoroughfare, at least in that neck of the woods. A head injury, perhaps, and that might be more than reason enough to wear a seatbelt (you decide) and to own a car with airbags.
And in case you missed it, this is Shawn P. Weiner, Sr. That means there is a Jr. Weiner out there somewhere with the same damn name.
