A Pity Party for Ming

Rep Ming, aka “Melanie 2.0,” as I often call him, made a crybaby tweet today, one week after losing to my senator.  What sweetens his loss all the more is that he’s excluded from BOTH sides of the wall for the next 2 years.

My high school basketball coach regularly said following each loss “losers make excuses, winners double down and take action.”  If you care to read Ming’s “screed,” to use a favorite word of former Alderman Jan Schmidt, here it is:

For a few more weeks, I’m a State Representative for the Town of Hollis, so I have a responsibility to address concerns that were shared with me over the past few months. In particular, I must speak to the mailers you received from @NHGOPChairman Chris Ager.

These appear to have been sent to all households in District 12 (I received them, as well), and they didn’t simply contain the usual misrepresentations found in political advertising.

They used racist and xenophobic imagery, and I understand why you shared with me that you were offended, hurt, and angry.

I know these mailers created unwanted conversations with your young children about what they meant. I appreciate that you wanted to shield them from seeing this imagery delivered to your homes. The most I can offer at this point is to speak up for you and your families.

The only other state senate district that appeared to be receiving these types of mailers was District 1, the one that borders Canada.

When asked to speak on the record about the mailers against my campaign, Chairman Ager said, “Come on, I’m not going to be approving anything that looks anything even close to being racist. Not going to happen.”

I am sincerely appreciative that @NHGOPChairman Ager has publicly stated that he is against racism, and I hope that, upon hearing that his actions have had such a negative impact on voters, he will reconsider using such imagery and messaging in the future.

There may be, and probably are, those of you who would never vote for me based on my party affiliation, but still were made uncomfortable by these mailers. I am speaking out for you as well.

If both parties are claiming to be welcoming to people of all races and ethnicities, then all campaigns ought to be able to function without resorting to these types of strategies.

Only time will tell if #NHPolitics can remove racism as a distraction from legitimate disagreements on how to deliver results to the people of New Hampshire, but I will remain hopeful and vigilant.

First, I will share that I examined and saved all the anti-Ming mailers from 10 Water St.  One would think that “Attorney Ming” wouldn’t resort to lying about such things, but then again, he canceled his Bar Association membership in both NH and Mass.  I am not a lawyer, nor do I play one on the internet, but anyone with the tools, resources, and willingness to look further into why, please share the findings.  There has to be a story behind it, which Adam Sexton doesn’t care to report.

Ming ran a campaign on the usual socialist garbage issues, took money from the usual Dem sources, and, for the cherry on top, tried to play up some of the merits of his Asian stock.  Having actively participated in the volunteer team efforts to elect a real Chinese candidate hailing from communist China to an even higher office, I have a few things to say.

While I’m aware that Annie Kuster’s seat was purchased for a swampy aristocrat carpetbagger using millions of dirty out-of-state dollars, Lily Tang Williams took her loss gracefully, and I was there in the hotel function room observing her “making the phone call.”  Lily worked hard on her campaign, starting the moment Burns lost 2 years ago, and she never accused Goodlander of racism or xenophobia.  Lily has never implied entitlement or self-pity and always expresses gratitude.  I am proud to have voted for her and encourage her to consider a 2026 senate run instead of a rematch with Goodlander.

I will never vote for Ming for any office, nor should anyone else.
