Concord, NH, July 9, 2026 — Today, a Carroll County, NH, jury found William Kelly of Ossipee guilty of two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the December 17, 2023, deaths of Christine Falzone, 33, and her unborn child, according to an NH Department of Justice press release.
The case is historic, as it marks the first conviction under the state’s fetal homicide law (RSA 630:1-a), which protects unborn children starting at 20 weeks in the womb. The law passed in 2017 as SB66, and its prime sponsor was State Sen Regina Birdsell, the current majority leader for the NH Senate.
Jason Hennessey, President of NH Right to Life, said: “While we mourn these 2 lives cut short, we are comforted that the justice system stood up for both Christine and her unborn child today in New Hampshire. Our hope is that in light of this tragedy, Granite Staters will more fully value and want to protect human life, both born and preborn.”
