New Hampshire is poised to become the 28th state to ban medical procedures aimed at disguising the sex of minors. I urge Governor Kelly Ayotte to sign HB377 and HB712 into law.
I serve as the coordinator of the Desisted & Detransitioned Women’s Caucus of Women’s Declaration International USA. Women’s Declaration International (WDI) is the leading global organization that works to advance women’s sex-based rights; WDI USA is its US chapter. WDI promotes the Declaration on Women’s Sex-Based Rights, which challenges the discrimination we experience from the replacement of the category of sex with that of so-called “gender identity.” WDI USA has supported numerous bills across the nation that seek to ban medical procedures aimed at disguising the sex of minors.
The mission of the WDI USA Desisted & Detransitioned Women’s Caucus, specifically, is to advocate for women and girls who previously believed they had a so-called “gender identity” by sharing our own stories and learning from other women. We do this in the hope that our efforts will contribute to the dismantling of “gender identity” ideology in language, law, and society. We have written our own Bill of Rights, which outlines the rights, reality, and political potential of desisted and detransitioned women, consistent with radical feminist principles.
Earlier this month, the United States Supreme Court issued its ruling in United States v. Skrmetti: In a 6-3 decision, the Court ruled that states can ban medical procedures aimed at disguising the sex of minors.
It’s time for New Hampshire to join the ranks of those states that have banned such procedures. On both sides of the political aisle, people are waking up to the harms caused by “gender identity.” New Hampshire’s own state representative, Jonah Wheeler, a Democrat, testified in support of both bills.
I call upon Governor Ayotte to sign HB377 and HB712 into law.
