Ray Bukley is the State Party Chair of the New Hampshire Democrat party. He’s had the gig for nearly two decades (seems like). During that time, on average, Democrats have increasingly lost control of the State Government.
From 2006 to 2008, the Dems had complete control. In 2010, they lost the legislature and have failed to field a majority in both chambers ever since. More often than not they don’t control either nor the State’s Executive Council, which shares power with the governor. And the last Democrat governor was Maggie Hassan, and she’s been in Washington longer than she was Governor.
It’s been a while, but Dems have managed to monopolize the Federal races. Democrats have held all four for over a decade, and that’s why Ray Buckley is still the State Party Chair for the Democrat party. Democrats would love to control state government, but the Party’s goal is top-down dictates from DC. If Buckley had lost the state and some federal seats, he’d likely be out on his ass and that could happen after 2026.
Don’t worry about Ray. He’s been a DNC Party VP and could make a living milking the Democrat Party apparatus until his last day on earth. And if we’re honest, he’s been good for New Hampshire. The overlords’ obsession with federal races has ensured a long list of good things for the locals thanks to Republicans winning state office and local races.
Lower taxes, best business climate, low poverty, and increasingly limited government growth (for the most part). The end of the tax on investment capital, lower business taxes, lower rooms and meals tax, we finally got the courts out of the education funding business, and the list goes on and on. NH continues to be one of the freest places on earth, if not just in North America.
We can thank Ray Buckley’s complete incompetence at state-level races and his party’s obsession with Federal elections and policies most Americans disagree with, and, to be fair, the Republican inability to keep out-of-state college kids and drive-by out-of-state voters from helping to elect Federal candidates to DC.
It does make me wonder. Many of the Democrat local race wins are in or near college towns. I wonder how many seats they’d lose if we finally stopped giving those kids more voting rights than actual Granite Staters.
Maybe Ray would have been out of that job a lot sooner, or maybe 2026 is the year Ray Buckley’s usefulness to the party to which he’s sworn his allegiance will end.
If he loses the US Senate Seat and at least one House race, I think he’s done. And that’s because Democrats really only care about Federal Races. They want to control New Hampshire, and your state, from Washington, DC, the UN Building, and Brussels. The entire NH Dem Federal delegation voted to ensure massive tax hikes on working Americans at the end of the year, for open borders, against tax cuts on tips and overtime, and opposed cutting the child tax credit in half, are against getting rid of waste fraud and abuse, and a long list of things that translate to bad news for regular Americans but good for level pullers and laundering tax dollars through DC.
And it’s not just the Dems but all of the Dems in office. If we can put an end to that, and the Democratic half of the First in the Nation primary doesn’t come back, NH and its Democrats will be nothing but another small state that means nothing within a Dem party that means nothing.
Talk about an incentive to win Red in 2026.
