Dear Grafton County Commissioners & Delegates,

As you may or may not know, virtual, online, ZOOM Commissioners’ Meetings were “blacked-out,” “shut down,” canceled,” by “the Chairman of the Board,” Martha McLeod,  as of April 22, 2025 so that no Grafton County residents can see & listen to the meetings in real time.  This type of censorship is something that is done in Socialist/Communist countries where tyrants and dictators rule.  Surely, this is not TRANSPARENT & OPEN GOVERNMENT envisioned by our Founders!  This is not emblematic of New Hampshire, whose motto is: Live Free or Die!

It is incredulous to me that millions of dollars of taxpayers’ money was recently spent to install broadband in order to “connect” Grafton County residents to the internet (incidentally, whereby one could connect to the Grafton County Commissioners’ Meetings!) only to have the Chairwoman unilaterally & dictatorially “shut-down,” “black-out,” discontinue online “connectivity,”  to enlighten those of us who physically cannot attend these important meetings, in person.  I believe you’ll agree that this action by the Chairwoman can also be classified as “wasteful spending” of the taxpayers’ money!     Additionally, there was a heated discussion by the other 2 Commissioners concerning this sudden, unilateral dictate to eliminate their constituents as well from Commissioners’  ZOOM meetings.

In an era of greater and greater technological advancements, TRANSPAERNCY and OPEN GOVERNMENT are heightened trademarks/characteristics by the availability and use of virtual, online ZOOM meetings.  It is a big help for us voters to the understanding of the interactions of all participants and representatives at all levels of government.

Please vote to reinstate virtual, online use of ZOOM Grafton County Commissioners’ Meetings and Courthouse Building Committee Meetings as well as Grafton County Executive Committee & Grafton County Delegate Meetings.
