In yesterday’s mail, I received an item with my name and address on a sticker label, and there was no return address, at least not on the envelope. Expecting it to be some routine innocuous solicitation, I opened it and found it to be a hit piece on Terese Bastarche by Bob Burns.
Terese is running for assistant treasurer of the NHGOP and Bob took it upon himself to send a “Dear State Committee Member” letter on “From the Office of Robert Burns” letterhead. The return address at the bottom of the page (30 Harvey Rd. Unit 4 Bedford) is one of many he has used to file campaign financial reports to Dave Scanlan over the years.
The letter is an endorsement of Terese’s opponent, Kate Day, but you’ll see that more energy is spent on attacking Terese than promoting Kate.

I should mention that Burns is a bitter spiteful man who resorts to threatening behavior when he’s a few sheets to the wind. Why would any sound minded person give credence to an endorsement from someone whose personal life is in disarray? I refer readers to Ed Mosca’s piece on Burns most recent candidacy. Ed is very gifted at giving people a much needed harsh dose of reality.
“The NHGOP is NOT going to win elections by nominating the same candidates who have been rejected by the voters over and over and over again. This is NOT Joe Kenney’s District One. This is the Executive Council District that repeatedly elected Chris Pappas (2013 – 2019). So the choice, bitter-clingers, is whether you want to win the general election, which requires nominating a new candidate … one who the voters have NOT repeatedly rejected… or whether you want to be represented by a Democrat. And, dear bitter-clingers, I am NOT telling you what to do. I’m just telling you the consequences. Do what you wish. Believe what you wish.“
Ed’s words are akin to the present situation of the NHGOP as Kate Day is to GOP office. I didn’t know of her until I saw her in a stock photo of Chris Ager at the podium outside the state house and surrounded by a bunch of angry looking Uniparty establishment women with lots of name recognition. I will note here that I mean no disrespect against Rep Rita Mattson, who just happens to be in the picture with Queen Sharon, Regina the masker, Jody Nelson the Enemy of 91A, Kimberly Rice the Parental Rights hater, Sayra DeVito the Judge Lynn fan, and Ruth Ward.

Wanting to know who was standing behind Queen Sharon, I started asking around and someone who knows someone who “knows people” replied that it was Kate Day. Then I started researching Kate Day, finding a lot of Cheshire stuff in my search results. I have a go-to guy for all Cheshire intel and he happens to be a constituent of Rita. I texted “what can you tell me about Kate Day?” I didn’t have to wait long for my answer and it was short and to the point. He said “a total RINO.” That was all I needed to know.
If you’re a voting member at Saturday’s event, a vote for Kate Day is a vote for more of the same. As Terese mentioned during her executive council candidacy, she was a project manager before becoming a nurse and oversaw millions of dollars. The wagons are circling around Kate Day because the cabal within the NHGOP doesn’t want Terese to look under the hood and they will use any means necessary to keep their money trails a secret. Transparency should be front and center. Vote for Terese.
