An Update on Rep Scott Wallace

Remember House Judiciary Vice Chair Scott Wallace?  In case you need a refresher, he’s Senator Gannon’s House counterpart and constituent and fellow enemy of 91A.  Now he has a new and personal reason to despise 91A because of pending charges against him that were filed after his primary loss and set to move forward in court on Election Day.

There are a lot of important details to unpack, but I will do my best to condense it and stick with what is public record to keep this article short.  I will also try to avoid being like Kurt Vonnegut Jr and keep the timeline unidirectional, but not without first commenting on Slaughterhouse Five’s time-traveling main character, an optometrist.  Please bear with me for one more degree of separation because Bette Lasky’s husband is an optometrist who steals political signs, a crime that is no longer a partisan thing!  Please continue reading to learn about Scott Wallace joining the ranks of sign thieves.  Let’s begin the timeline, starting with Scott Wallace filing for a seat different from the one he presently occupies.

He used his government email on August 7 to solicit endorsements and donations from other reps and misled his peers about the difference between the seat he occupies and the one he most recently sought. From 2018 to the present, he has held the District 8 seat but ran for the District 32 seat this year, which is shared with two other towns in addition to the one where he lives(Danville).

On August 25, he was caught stealing a Trump sign by its owner. Later, he evaded the Brentwood PD’s multiple attempts to contact him, and he even “lawyered up.” Maybe he retained his ilk, Senator Gannon, or even fellow Senate Judiciary enemy of 91A Daryl Abbas, who has plenty of legal experience defending unsavory people in Mass.

On September 10, he lost his primary against former Rep Melissa Litchfield, but that wasn’t the end of things; he later missed the September 18 candidate finance report filing deadline.  RSA 664:6 states that 9/18/24 was the deadline for a report to summarize any previous reports and itemize all other receipts and expenditures through the date of the primary, 9/10/24.

Another RSA states that candidates losing their primaries must remove all their political signs by the 2nd Friday(9/20/24) following the primary.  It is presently 6 weeks post-primary and Scott Wallace still has signs up, including a 4×8′ on Route 125 facing the Market Basket plaza in Epping.

Scott Wallace was eventually arrested on 9/25/24.  (case number 806-24-142-AR)  Wouldn’t it be funny if Dr Lasky was the one to bail him out?

Multiple complaints about Scott Wallace with varying dates have been reported to Scanlan and/or Formella’s offices, but I’ll finish up with a timeline item in the future. While the Scaers are in federal court on Election Day for their flagpole suit against the City of Nashua, they aren’t the only ones barred from participating in the election at their local polls due to court. Scott Wallace has his arraignment at Rockingham District Court.

It’s a bummer that we, the Grok Faithful, can’t be in multiple places simultaneously.
