Allowing biological boys to play on girls’ teams is literally ending girls’ sports for some. It’s canceling games and driving biological girls away. This reality is unlikely the desired result, but predictable to many.
In New Hampshire, trans-identifying player Maelle Jacques is defying state law (HB1205) and is playing against girls with the Kearsarge, NH “girls” soccer team.
This decision puts that district in considerable liability. It could cost the Kearsarge School District more than a few missed girls soccer games by adding years of costly litigation. If Jacques is allowed to play, and injures another player, the school could be liable, having knowingly violated the law putting the injured at undue risk.

Two other student athletes have been given a temporary court injunction to play, but Maelle Jacques (who is nearly 6 feet tall) was NOT part of that injunction. However, the Kearsarge School District has declared that this athlete is appropriate. They based this decision on the NHIAA rules and their own assessment, not based on NH state law. Neither the Kearsarge school district nor the NHIAA have the authority to defy NH law (HB1205). The Kearsarge School District has chosen to go with the NHIAA “rules” instead of the “law.” If challenged, it could be very costly to the district.
On October 1st, the Kearsarge girls soccer team is hosting the Hillsboro Deering girls soccer team. The majority of the Hillsboro Deering Varsity girls players have refused to play, citing safety and fairness. Hillsboro Deering will only be sending a JV level team. They are hoping their JV level squad can safely play without any fanfare or risk. If Junior Kearsarge player Maelle Jacques plays, the differences will be even more noticeable and potentially dangerous.
Local parents have made attempts to speak up about their concerns. Two Bow, NH fathers have been hit with no trespass orders after silently wearing pink XX armbands at their daughter’s soccer game. At the next Bow soccer game, about 50 free speech supporters and concerned parents showed up to support the two fathers who were trespassed.
he group wore XX pink armbands in solidarity and watched the game peacefully. No additional “no trespassing” orders have been issued despite the attendance by these free speech advocates. Many are eager to see how these next opposing teams will react to biological males on the girl’s teams. Will they refuse, too?
Will this ostensibly end girls’ sports, destroying Title lX and any progress it made?
