Granite State Taxpayers, What a Misnomer!

Like many other groups that want you to think that they have the best interest of your liberty and your wallet at heart, Granite State Taxpayers (GST) releases a scorecard, and the 2024 report is in!  Of the 67 reps they’re honoring with so-called “perfect scores,” 25 of them voted for the RTK tax(HB 1002).

I cross-referenced the 88 rogue Rs in the March 21 House roll call with the 67 reps that GST bestows the highest honor to in the form of a perfect score.  Without further delay, here’s the list:

Alexander
Aures
Ball
Bogert
Brown
Creighton
Doucette
Gagne
Griffin
Harb
Harvey
Kennedy
Kuttab (HB 1002 sponsor)
Lascelles
Love
Judge Lynn
McGough
Notter
Pauer
Potucek
Stone
Terry
Thomas
Wallace
Weyler (vandal that destroyed Emily Phillips’s signs)

I will also add that 41 more out of the 88 received a score of between 90 and 99, so that’s 66, total, out of 88 that are on the “GST Dean’s List.” I stopped there, but if I had to guess, most of the remaining 23 have a score between 80 and 89.

GST Chair Ray Chadwick is an older guy who seems to be in cognitive decline.  Yes, it’s true that such a condition can occur on both sides of the aisle, but I was told about an incident at a monthly NRCC meeting that I didn’t attend.  A politically astute couple that knows their stuff and lived in Nashua at the time briefed me the next day.  The heated argument had something to do with recruiting rep candidates (Nashua has 27 seats that are nearly impossible to flip) and how much vetting should be done before funds are given to their campaigns.

Ray Chadwick, a Bedford resident but dues-paying NRCC member, thought it was ok to fork over money without first doing any sort of rudimentary political background check.  Because I didn’t seek courtesy permission to identify the couple that made their disapproval of Ray Chadwick’s opinion known to everyone in attendance, I won’t say their names here.  However, anyone wanting to know more can certainly give me their contact info and I will pass it on for this couple to get in touch.

I’m sure everyone can think of several institutions and awards that were once thought to be prestigious but have since declined in reputation because of who they let in or praised. Now, Granite State Taxpayers and their version of a Boy Scout badge can be added to the list.
