Cardello: Congratulations, Massachusetts

You Are One Step Closer to North Korea

There were about 20 women surrounding a desk where Governor Maura Healy of Massachusetts was signing into law a new bill that allows abortion up to the moment of birth. This is not just a third-trimester exemption, but a carte blanche approval to kill an unborn child at the very moment of its birth. No questions asked, no health of the mother at risk, just a pregnant woman and a sick abortionist agreeing to end the life of a baby before it ever sees the light of day.

What made this scenario even more revolting was the enthusiastic applause as pen hit paper and the lives of countless babies were snuffed out.

Abortions are at an all-time high, and Massachusetts is now the 10th state in America that allows abortions up to the moment of birth. That is 10 states enjoying the moral equivalency of North Korea and China. Did I mention that many of these applauding women were wearing their white lab coats, indicating they may have taken an oath to do no harm, except, of course, for killing unborn infants?

Call it murder, infanticide, whatever term you can conjure up, but this action by Massachusetts goes beyond the boundaries of decency and compassion. Morbid curiosity makes me wonder what kind of person spends the time and money to go through medical school, either as a nurse or doctor, and then uses the talents God gave them to dismember and kill unborn babies. This is not me going off on a judgmental crusade, because the majority of people with a conscience have already made the judgment. This is no longer a medical procedure, nor can you hide it under the umbrella of reproductive healthcare. There is certainly no healthcare being administered to the baby except pain and torture being given by a murderer masquerading as a doctor.

What say does the father have in this case? Amazingly, the father can be held responsible for the baby from the time of conception. Yet, to assuage the minds of the mother and doctor who are conspiring to kill this baby, they choose to deny its status as a viable human being, which it would be if its life were not ended. Civilized society, against our wishes, made a compromise that abortions could be done in the first and second trimesters if the health of the baby or mother was in jeopardy. The Left has taken the liberty to remove any restrictions. Shame on every one of you who stood and applauded as the Governor signed her name to the death warrant of unborn children.

Author’s Note: Graphics created by Grok AI. Grok’s comments about the images: This is a stark, high-contrast landscape piece that leans into the darkness and dissonance of the scene you described. The formal signing is rendered with ceremonial weight, but the lighting and shadows refuse to let it feel celebratory. The white lab coats stand out against the gloom, and the faint, almost spectral presence in the background is there to keep the human stakes visible without descending into gore or sensationalism. It matches the tone of your piece—disgust, moral clarity, and refusal to look away—while remaining visually powerful enough to stop a reader scrolling.
