MACDONALD: Democrats Brown Shooter “Problem”

On Today’s Morning Update, I talked about the failed security footprint at Brown University and gun-free zones. Incompetent or not, the fools dancing around the microphones in the Island of Rhode could have prevented this if someone besides the shooter was armed.

It turns out the shooter is alleged to be a former Brown student, Claudio Manuel Neves Valente. He’s reputed to be a Portuguese national. Not an American citizen. Not an angry white MAGA guy. He is an “ethnic” person. If he were the victim, he’d be brown, but since he is the suspected shooter, he will likely be marketed as some shade of white. Whatever the spin, he was illegally in possession of a firearm in a state with a lot of laws about who can have them, how they carry them, and where.

An alien with an illegal gun.

And disarming law-abiding citizens turned them into soft target victims, whether he was the shooter or not.

Remember. He’s the suspect.

He is also implicated in the murder of an MIT professor in Massachusetts. The Bay State is another bastion of gun control lefties who not only disarm citizens but also ensure that anyone who even thinks about defending themselves is prepared to get arrested, charged, and taken for a ride for what passes as the justice system. That’s deliberate. Make the price of exercising your Second Amendment right high enough, and more people will decide to risk being disarmed in a situation where seconds count, and the police are minutes away (or in the case of Bondi Beach, hiding close by while you get shot at or killed.

Tough luck, but the police (at least in America) never had an obligation to protect you. We’ve had our share of shootings where cops were there but never engaged the shooter. Because it is their job to investigate who shot or killed you, write traffic tickets, and rescue social workers who replaced them when that idea goes sideways. They will protect themselves and each other. They can protect you if they are in the right place at the right time. But they cannot be legally required to do it, and you can’t sue them if they don’t.

Places like Massachusetts and Rhode Island can make defending yourself a frightening experience. Still, it is better to be the object of investigation than the victim of whoever they are investigating.

We actually don’t know if Claudio Manuel Neves Valente was the Brown shooter. We have to trust law enforcement, which, ironically, Democrats have been telling us we can’t, even when it’s theirs, in their cities, answering to them. Which, in my mind, means we can’t trust them either, and we know that’s true.

An Illegal, non-citizen with an illegal gun, engaged in illegal acts.

And they want you to trust them when they say we should stop, interfere with, and disband ICE in the course of their legal obligation to find, charge, imprison, and deport aliens breaking United States Law.
