MacDonald: Commies In The Hedgerows!

A reader brought this to my attention: Christopher Helali is an openly communist public official in Orange County, Vermont. Not so surprising, as this is Vermont. Burlington, for example, has two-party elections. Left, and further Left. Democrats and Socialsits. No one else need bother to run, there’s no point, and the effect it has had on the city is what you’d expect. It’s a train wreck.

A communist is not surprising, but I was interested enough to dig in a bit.

Christopher has an impressive CV. “He has a Master of Science in Legal Studies, a Master of Science in Southeast European Studies: Politics, History, Economics (M.Sc.), Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.) and a  Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Philosophy, History (Honors) & Political Science (Honors),.” It makes you wonder why he was a social studies teacher at Hanover High School until March of this year. He also left his role as a board member of NEA-NH.

He got a better gig working for a large, global law firm whose bio of him mentions much of this but has nothing to say about him being openly Communist with an eye (like any good communist) toward standing against US and NATO imperialism, against Zionism, and their proxies. His words, not mine.

Chris supports all the things about America that give him the freedom to destroy it, but he has nothing to say about the kind of place it would be if Communism—he is a member of the Communist Party USA—were to succeed here. He provides no examples I can find of communist countries where free speech, free press, and the right to travel are honored without interference.

In other words, this is mostly propaganda BS, but feel free to suffer through it for context.

It is a very impressive bit of theater, and not without justification on both sides. I can see why he has grown weary of the treatment, but he is an avowed communist who travels to the Middle East frequently. The Red Green Axis is real. This is something a former high School Social studies teacher ought to know. Much of the Middle East and everything communist has been at war with the American Republic for centuries. They desire to conquer it using the freedom it affords to destabilize it from within.

Just sayin. Also,

Helali’s political odyssey has been odd indeed. He joined the U.S. Army Reserve in 2009 as an undergraduate at the University of San Diego, leaving the military six years later as a first lieutenant. Next, he studied Marxist philosophy for two years at a university in Wuhan, China. But he then entered what he described as a rebellious phase characterized by an emphasis on individualism and an embrace of anarchism.

He’s also, as noted above, an elected official in Orange County, Vermont, which abuts Grafton County in New Hampshire. He is a High Bailiff: this official position has no pay, with duties rarely called upon. The High Bailiff issues writs and fills in for the Sheriff if they are unable to perform their duties, one of which is to execute writs for seizure of a defendant’s possessions, including their land or property.

Talk about the perfect job for a Communist. And to be clear, he’s not shy about that. The communism. His affiliation, that is, and that might give a few folks pause. As might his obsession with the idea of Democracy. He claims to fight for the people and their right to democracy, but as a communist, I can’t imagine he means it in any context beyond that of its Marxist founders. Democracy is an essential step toward arriving at … communism.

That might explain any opposition to the idea of the American Republic, whose history the communists have been rewriting with the help of American Democrats for the better part of a century.

And did you catch that bit in the tweet about him being the Communist Party International Secretary, or that his job at JPA is to oversee Asian, the Middle East, and South America, where many freedom fighters continue to battle against Imperialists (US, NATO, and Zionism).

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.
