MACDONALD: US Confidence Index Remains Elevated Despite Background “Noise”

The overall economic news is good. GDP is up, wages and annual income are up, inflation is under control, the economy is adding real jobs, and hundreds of thousands of people who wanted full-time work but were stuck in part-time hell have found full-time jobs. We’re in a great place if we can just survive the midterm curse, and this is another indicator of why we need to.

The Monthly Confidence Index (MCI) of the United States’ equipment finance sector has remained steady month-on-month to sit at 62.4 in September, as business confidence continues to be elevated despite what one survey respondent describes as the “noise” of tariffs, mid-term elections and foreign affairs.

What is the MCI?

The Monthly Confidence Index (MCI) for the Equipment Finance Industry is a qualitative assessment produced by the Equipment Leasing & Finance Association (ELFA) that tracks the sentiment of key executives regarding business conditions and future expectations within the $1.3 trillion US equipment finance sector.

“Index Value: The MCI stood at 62.4, remaining unchanged from August and holding steady for the fifth consecutive month.”

Five straight months of moderately upbeat economic perceptions, with 62.4 being an 11-month high.

Businesses in America are confident about Capital, employment, and spending. And a majority of executives expect the outlook to remain steady, while 26% think it will improve.

Given all the negative noise being thrown out (and paid for) by the political left, mostly about food and gas prices, this is an encouraging contrast.

The other is that we know the left can’t or won’t do anything to make the price of anything go down. They’ll just make it worse. The only cure for what the left claims ails us is to let Trump and Republicans finish what they started.

And it’s not a hard sell. Trump and Republicans did it in 2017, and then Democrats got some power and, in 2020, bollocksed the recovery with all their COVID BS, a deliberate effort to get a Democrat elected, which led to record-high inflation, government spending, and fraud, not to mention the illegal alien invasion.

And now they are openly canoodling with Socialists, the only bunch with a worse economic record than the Democrats we have now.
