The idea that the globalist left, which includes elites and American progressives, will protect and defend speech, association, or assembly that they disagree with is absurd. At every opportunity, they actively work to control words, speech, and, by extension, thoughts. Any crisis, real or imagined, is an excuse to create fear and to silence dissent.
To them, the defense of rights, privacy, assembly, or expression is entirely political and limited to their own. Accusations of demonstrations of this hypocrisy do not discourage them. And it is entirely appropriate tolook at what other globalist progressives do to see what they want to do here.
“Do you think the government should criminalize everyday interactions in your home with your family? If not, you should read Bill C-16,” MP Leslyn Lewis wrote on X. “The bill creates new offenses (Criminal Code Section 264.01), which are deeply concerning for normal, loving family interactions, based on a ‘pattern of coercive or controlling conduct,’ even when no violence, threats, or illegal acts occur.”
“These are not crimes,” Lewis wrote. “They are part of marriage, parenting, and shared responsibility. This does not diminish the seriousness of coercive control in genuinely abusive relationships. But criminal law should target clear abuse and violence, which are already addressed in law. Bill C-16, as written, opens the door to police intervention in the homes of ordinary families.”
Lewis gave some examples:
- Asking a spouse where they are after they said they’d be home,
- Expressing concern about excessive drinking,
- Disagreeing about finances or spending,
- Asking a partner not to give children junk food,
- Raising concerns about time away from family,
- Setting household boundaries or expectations,
Remember, in every instance, the goal is to manipulate language to reshape how your mind engages in communication. They are programming you to self-censor so that it becomes not just a habit but a part of who you are as a member of their community.
They want to be able to arrest you for tweets or memes. They want you to be afraid that it will happen. Deplatforming, debanking, all of it.
The fact that Canada’s liberals are pushing their way into people’s homes and their once private conversations is just the next logical step. If you weaponize everyone against each other, the problem of families eventually solves itself. The people are left, mostly alone, afraid to associate with anyone beyond forced responsibilities to the state, and resistance to tyranny becomes difficult, if not impossible.
When people cannot think for themselves or speak their minds, mindful opposition becomes impractical, if not eventually illegal.
Canada is just preparing the groundwork to get there from here, and progressives around the world who are not at or past this point want very much to duplicate that where they are, as quickly as possible, violently, if it comes to that.
