It is not lost on anyone anymore that when Democrats use the word affordable in front of any other word, it means subsidized money laundering into Democrat campaigns. And not to kick a dead donkey, but I’ve been more than clear about how and why Democrats don’t have a clue how to do it any other way.
Steal money from one group and use it to offset the effect of all their other polices, which results in the rising cost of everything. Put differently, we can make this appear affordable in exchange for votes and kickbacks at the increased expense of someone else, which – by the way – increases costs, raises inflation (there’s always money printing involved), and is doomed to collapse any day just as long as it’s the day after the next election.
When it all falls apart, the dependents the left created find themselves worse off than if the Dems had done nothing. Those politicians skirt fault, lay blame elsewhere, and lie some more about how they are the only ones who care or can help. But they care about no one but the party and only seek to further help themselves.
Yes, the day care scandal is a thing, and it appears that this extends across all fifty states and a few territories, but none of it is as insidious or expensive as government-run public education.

What passes for per-child-per-year public education funding in the tens of thousands per child per year, extracted from taxpayers, is a daycare/community center that may accidentally teach a third of the kids to read and do math. Some actually teach almost half of them, but many teach few or none.
Administrators, teachers, and students show up, along with custodians, crossing guards, and all the rest. It’s quite the show. The buildings are used, heated, lighted, and have all the required systems (emergency, fire, etc.) The practice drills in the event of fires or active shooters. A play is performed daily for 160-180 days a year. Lots of people collect a lot of money to “graduate” students, a majority of whom can’t even test to grade level when that standard is itself in decline.
Money is laundered through a system that works as a pass-through for unions that protect teachers to the detriment of students, to keep the dues coming, and spend it all on Democrats. Teachers and administrators who overwhelmingly fund and support Democratic campaigns.
It’s the Somali daycare scam in the order of trillions, annually, defended by the same people trying to make excuses for the fraud in Minnesota, Ohio, Maine, and everywhere else.
No one is cared for or learns anything while leftwing actors, agents, and politicians benefit.
And I expect the daycare fraud will have some impact, but public education daycare will not. Not in any meaningful way, at least, though it’s not a total loss. Independent media got a huge shot in the arm and hout out over the efforts of a few doing the work the Handmaidne media is diligently trying to discredit.
None of which helps kids trapped in public schools who will learn very little of use, then be tossed out into the world to complain about how it’s someone else’s fault. They’re not wrong about that.
Democrats did it, and the rest of us failed to stop it on scale. And while some states have made huge strides in the home education and alternative education fronts, until we do something to public education that comes with financial pain, that daycare scam will steam along unrestrained.
