I immigrated to the United States from the U.K. over 50 years ago. I went through LEGAL channels. It took me 2 years to go through the entire paperwork process, filling out endless forms and applications. Then, during my visit to the American Embassy in London, I underwent a comprehensive medical check, answered many questions, and finally received approval to immigrate and was issued a “green card.”
And, yes, I had employment secured, so I would not be a burden upon the state. I never had to live “in the shadows” looking over my shoulder because I chose the LAWFUL way to enter into this country. I became a proud U.S. citizen 26 years ago and never looked back.
When I think about the 12 million-plus illegal aliens who have invaded our country thanks to the Biden Administration’s open borders, it’s like a slap in the face to me and all the other legal immigrants who worked hard to do it the right way. No American taxpayer paid for ME to come here. It was my money and my determination. When I immigrated here, I was not given taxpayer-paid free hotel rooms or free VISA debit cards. I’ve never been on taxpayer-paid welfare or food stamps. EVER. Unlike today’s illegal invaders.
In the January 10/11, 2026, NH Union Leader (Merrimack Immigration Debate), a Mexican-born naturalized U.S. citizen was quoted as saying she had lived in the shadows for a long time and was not going to be quiet, and that she was still going to “inform my people.” In my world, if you are an American citizen, your “people” are your fellow Americans. Apparently, she doesn’t see it that way. This shows the mentality of people who claim allegiance to America as ‘citizens’ but don’t feel the connection to American culture and laws. Without assimilation, you have invasion.
I support our brave Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) law enforcement agents 1,000% and thank them for helping to keep this country and its citizens safe. ICE detention centers are not a threat if you have nothing to hide, nor are they a “detriment to our schools” as another Merrimack protester in the same article claimed without evidence. Real Americans want to be safe from the criminals, child rapists, and murderers roaming freely in our streets.
The real threat to our country is the tolerance for lawlessness masquerading as protest movements. Movements like ICE Watch and Antifa, funded by several billionaires (including George Soros and Neville Singham), who are paying agitators to go to our cities to cause hostile, disruptive, and violent acts to oppose, interfere with, and monitor ICE activities.
ICE are designated immigration officers and are therefore conferred legal authorities under 8 USC 1357 for the purpose of arrest. ICE’s use of force policy also absolutely gives an agent the ability to stop and detain anyone in violation of 18 USC 111.
But the fake news propaganda teams and lying Democrat lawmakers have to justify their sad existence. They villainize federal law enforcement officers, filling empty liberal minds and breeding paid-agitator crowds chanting in the streets, blowing their whistles, trying to create reactions by ICE agents ,and waiting for another Renee Good moment.
As a proud American citizen, I’m glad I’m not a Democrat being forced to ‘go along with the collective crowd.’ I love being an independent-thinking Conservative.
