MACDONALD: ‘Grok Contributor John Klar Featured in The Epoch Times

Not for nothin’ but our contributors have included doctors, lawyers, business owners, scientists, education experts, parents advocates, folks fighting for girls and women’s rights, engineers, experts on the Middle East, Biologists who know what a woman is, lawyers (several), and many a veteran from every form of service except space force. We’ve had homeschool moms, entrepreneurs, and just about every other sort. We even have a few reformed journalists and news editors.

We’ve got tax advocates, education advocates, and plenty of former elected officials from every level of government.

Several of our contributors have won Free Speech and blogging awards, and some have moved on to bigger and broader platforms, or just moved on. Rush Limbaugh even called me out by name on the air, while citing an article I wrote.

You name it. All on this little ole blog we call GraniteGrok. To which we can add a featured article in the Epoch Times about contributor John Klar.

BROOKFIELD, Vt.—Six generations of John Klar’s family farmed in the Green Mountains of Vermont, yet he had never baled hay or raised animals.

But in the late 1990s, spurred by chronic illness, he left his law firm, returned with his wife and children to the countryside of his youth and bought a family farm.

Fast-forward a couple decades and his life took another unanticipated turn, this time spurred by a run-in with a meat inspector over a Craigslist posting. Drawing on his legal background, the former tax attorney became an advocate for small farms and regenerative agriculture, as well as being heavily involved in today’s Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement.

“I didn’t plan to be a farmer, but the more I farmed, the more I saw that something was really smelling rotten in this industry,” Klar said.

“Big Ag and the federal government pump a lot of money into processed food, most of which is made from the same base products: ingredients from corn and soy,” Klar told The Epoch Times. “They’re devoid of nutritional value and they are filled with toxins.”

We want to congratulate John on the success of his mission to defend family farms and local food, and thank him for sharing that as part of what we do here every day. A bunch of mostly regular folks from all different starting points, who agree that smaller government leads to better citizens, and better citizens make America great.

It’s a great write-up. Please take the opportunity to congratulate him when you get the chance.
