The not-so-shocking story, with video evidence, of how actors within the Portland Police Department were running cover for Antifa thugs isn’t surprising. And antifa supporting cops arresting independent journalists isn’t something the “Trump is Hitler” lefty-Media is going to report.
Oh, look. Blue city cops are protecting progressive thugs, suppressing speech. What do you mean? I didn’t see anything.
The optics are amusing as hell. People who cover people freely protesting a so-called king, not reporting on Democrat run police forces protecting speech-suppressing progressive street thugs.
Add to that the money trail reporting on the proglodyte’s not-so-organic mobs, and influence operations, and someone in the Police Department decided they needed better optics. The Portland PD cleared out the Antifa encampment outside Portland’s ICE facility.
Given that Antifa and Hamas have a lot in common, we should assume they are using the time to rearm, plan targets, and organize future street action. Yes, some major faces of the movement fled the country. Sure, Trump’s DOJ is actively running down the funding streams. Kash and Dan at the FBI have allocated assets to investigate the movement in search of a few examples to set. But the many millions that have already flowed are still in play, at least until they are found and frozen, if that’s even a possibility.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating the Portland Police Department in Oregon, days after a conservative influencer was arrested amid a federal crime crackdown in the city.
Harmeet Dhillon, the DOJ’s assistant attorney general for civil rights, “signed, sealed [and] delivered!” a letter to Portland police about the investigation on Friday, according to a post from her X account.
There are plenty of stories in the naked city, but the big one is the mainstream press’s lack of coverage. The Handmaiden media has long sent reporters to cover Antifa the way any good propagandist reports on their revolutionary success stories. During the Summer of Love, the press could barely contain their joy. Autonomous areas (including police stations and court houses whose armed seizure was not at all like an insurrection) were to die for, and some people did.
Portland was akin to ground zero for this. But when the attacks on federal officers and federal buildings began, not so much. Not beyond pointing at ICE agents and calling them names. Low priority, was the name, and that presumably applies to the Portland PD: officers not in Antifa’s good graces moved them along.
No investigative reporting on dirty cops letting street thugs beat on journalists because they are the wrong sort.
And we have to rely on private citizens to do the work of telling us that, at least for the moment, ICE agents in Portland don’t have a small army of Marxists across the way, waiting to harm them.
Regardless of where you stand on ICE and deporting illegal entrants, organized groups (we know they are because they keep saying they aren’t) beating up people and intimidating anyone who disagrees with them (or tries to report what they are doing on our streets) is not something any American should tolerate.
There are a lot of Democrats who do, and they deserve to be called out for it. And there is a lot of media that won’t report it, and they should too.
