CARDELLO: The Protestors Never Rest Even When Unsure What They are Protesting

It is an unusual time to be a news junkie. The government is shut down, which leads to a 24/7 media cage match with each side pointing an accusing finger at the other. The Republicans appear to be gaining the upper hand in that marathon skirmish as they continue to present facts, while the Democrats resort to emotional appeals about the sky falling. Schumer and Jeffries continue to lose power and credibility the longer the Shutdown continues, as they are not negotiating any policy differences, but are continuing to push for healthcare for the illegal or undocumented. The latest word from Democrat insiders is that we will see no effort to end the Shutdown by the Democrats until after the No Kings Protest on October 18.

The No Kings Protest is a national day of marches and demonstrations to highlight the angst the Left has for Donald Trump. Organizers hope to amass millions in a peaceful day of unison and hatred for our President. Peaceful means minimal property damage and burning of public property.

According to Google AI, the following are the primary funding sources for the national protest:

The nationwide “No Kings” protests are backed by a coalition of over 200 progressive organizations, labor unions, and nonprofits, with significant funding and coordination from groups such as Indivisible and the 50501 Movement. Some reports have also identified major individual donors who support these protest efforts.

Key funders and organizers of the “No Kings” protests include:

  • Indivisible: A national progressive group that has taken a leading role in organizing the “No Kings” events and training local activists. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) has donated $100,000 from his campaign funds to Indvisible.
  • 50501 Movement: This group, which stands for “50 states, 50 protests, one movement,” was key to developing the initial, decentralized response to what it calls the authoritarian actions of the Trump administration.
  • Coalition of progressive groups: The protests are supported by a large network of organizations, including the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), and the Communications Workers of America (CWA).
  • Wealthy donors: Some billionaire donors have contributed to the effort. This includes Walmart heiress Christy Walton, who funded a full-page newspaper advertisement in support of the movement. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) has also funded organizing groups, including Indivisible, to aid in protests against the Trump administration.
  • Individual activists: As a grassroots movement, the “No Kings” protests also rely on volunteer organizers and activists who mobilize participants at the local level.

The concern for the people impacted by the Shutdown is secondary to the Democrats, who are looking to capitalize on the Shutdown and the national protest to make a maximum impact on the people who still get their news from CNN or MSNBC. The Left is concentrating its efforts to regain Congress in the midterms to turn the second half of the Trump Presidency into hearings and impeachment actions.

The Left has no plans to end wars, secure our borders, build up the economy, ensure our energy needs for the future, build up the military to fend off China, Russia, and Iran, and get our education system back to teaching the basics. No, the Left’s plan is to end Trump and the MAGA movement, which is in the way of Socialism and the end of America as many of us remember her. The fall of America is how the Left would like to celebrate its 250th anniversary.
