BRADLEY: Mental Illness

Every time it happens, we say never again … JFK, RFK, MLK!

Let’s face the fact: Mental Illness often requires institutionalization! Until our society acknowledges that the shuttering of mental institutions in the late 1980s, as I recall, has enabled and escalated violence in our society, the violence will continue!

Charles, what makes you think you know a solution to the problem of severe cases of mental illness in American society?

In my early career as a practicing attorney, I was appointed by a State Judge to interview numerous individuals (at least 50) who had been committed to the New Hampshire State Hospital in Concord for the mentally ill. These involuntary commitment hearings required the State to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the person was dangerous to themselves or others.   Each case would involve a psychiatrist conducting an examination of the individual and recommending either commitment or release to the Merrimack County Probate Court.  Since I was representing the individual to be committed, I would cross-examine the psychiatrist on behalf of that person regarding the committal decision to make sure their rights were upheld.

The closing of these institutions has unleashed upon a peaceful population a terrible spasm of violence, which has recently resulted in three attempted assassinations of President Trump, the Minnesota school shooting of defenseless children sitting in a Catholic Church praying, and the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Make no mistake, today these mentally ill individuals are being enabled and funded by leftist groups like ANTIFA, whose head is Alexander Soros, the son of George Soros, the husband of Huma Abedin, the best friend of Hilary Clinton. The constant, libelous, and relentless trashing of conservatives by the mainstream media also encourages this despicable violence.

I wish Charlie Kirk were here to tell us this!
