After being spun off by NBC/Universal post-merger/buyout/ Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope, the future of MSNBC has been decided. The verdict is in. Same old whore, new dress.
MSNBC has been rebranded as MS NOW, with a new logo, but the programming will remain the same.
“As MS NOW continues to grow within Versant, it’s critical that it has its own distinct identity, entirely separate from the NBC News brand in order to avoid any potential confusion between the two organizations,” Adam Miller, COO of NBCUniversal, said in a note to NBCU employees. “This will be especially important as NBC News and MS NOW continue to cover the same news events, but without the joint operations they have shared for so many years.”
Look, Momma, it’s a turd. No dear, that’s not a turd, it’s MS NOW.

It’s Demcorat Socialism, which is socialism (which is Marxism) with the same message control and creeping jackbooted tyranny, but with balloons, clowns, and glitter.
My Socialism NOW will continue to cover the same news and events, and not cover them, especially when the easily triggered newsroom cannot tolerate the gastronomical difficulty of listening to people or ideas that challenge their worldview. They have promised to ensure the slant remains intact, as well as the lies that glue their viewers’ fragile worldview together.
It makes sense. They aren’t going to restaff the entire operation, which is what it would take, and do that or not, any shift away from its radical nonsense would cost it the audience it has. Remember, CNN tried to drift to the center but took so much heat from viewers they had to snap back to partisan business as usual. And who among us is going to give MS NOW a try, given all the other options available, were it to attempt a drift to the middle (and actual journalism) which its current audience has less tolerance for than its staff.
And so we’re clear, I’m fine with so-called news outlets being left, right, or crazy as long as they embrace it, own it, and admit it. The pretension of objectivity is what galls.
One parting shot at the reporting on MSN.com, which is part of the reason the original MSNBC situation was hatched in the first place (Microsoft and NBC cooperating to expand their lying, two-faced media conglomerate).
MSNBC and NBC have shared newsgathering staff over the years. MSNBC’s leftward tilt has sometimes complicated matters for straight-news-focused NBC News and local NBC stations, which the name change could help alleviate.
Straight, news-focused? Seriously.
