MacDonald: Autopen Use Began 5 Days Into The Biden Presidency

Here’s a story that’s not going away. The “who was running the Biden White House” catastrophe, and what’s all this then with the autopen. Democrats have been dismissive, but as the below testimony confirms, if you are all about defending The DemocracyTM, Executive actions require the Chief Executive to sign things, not some device mimicking his signature.

One report suggested that a behind-the-scenes network of Biden aides allegedly formed a “potentially unlawful chain of command” to manage Biden’s signatures. This further heightened suspicions that the former president might not have personally approved the executive actions.

My gut feeling is that this isn’t going to amount to much. You can’t prove Biden didn’t mumble permission to issue blanket pardons or to sign executive orders. If he’s lucid on any given day, he’ll say he gave the Big Guy OK. If not, well, we already know he’s not mentally fit for trial.

The best we should hope for is a few staffers getting fined or jailed.

I don’t see anything done via auto-pen getting overturned even if SCOTUS decides to offer an opinion on the lawful use and circumstances, which ought to be none. If the President can’t sign it, then it sits until they can. The Chief Executive already has broad powers to order action without a signature or, until the official version of whatever it is can be signed.

My reasoning is simple.

Democrats keep trying to elevate useful idiots who are effectively meat puppets to the power of the bureaucratic deep state. The autopen is the highest form of this desire to elect faces who don’t do anything, which was Joe Biden, except when he did things they had to cover up – and they did, with complicit media assistance.

If anything comes of this, it ought to be ending the use of the autopen, period.
